Meteor is a web application framework that provides all the responsiveness and power that you expect from the web of the future. And it is extremely easy to use! In this book, we will start by building a basic application that demonstrates all the core concepts of Meteor and Mobile-first web development. By the end of the book you will be able to build full-featured Mobile Apps that you can release on the app store, as well as web applications that can run in both a Desktop and a Mobile Browser with no extra code.
If you are looking to learn full-stack mobile application development, this is the place to start!

The book itself is nearing completion and it is now time to start thinking about how to publish it. My original plan was to completely finish editing the book and then turn my focus onto building a hosting platform for the book. However, a recent slew of emails from followers of the project has made me rethink this strategy. It was suggested by a number of people that I get the book out NOW and let the community assist with the final edits. So, here I am, asking for your help to release this book.
If I receive this funding, I will have the book out and available in a few short weeks, instead of months. As an added incentive to help make this a reality, I am going to be including some swag I designed to any supporter through Kickstarter. If you help out early enough, you can even see the book before anyone else!
Early supporters will not only get access to the book before anyone else, they will also get it at half the price! My way of saying thank you to the community. You all have been so supportive up to now, and I can't wait to see what we build together in the future!
About the Author
Christopher Franklin is a professional software engineer with over 10 years of experience building CE (consumer electronics) and mobile applications. His mobile development career started on Windows Mobile 5 and 6, growing to include iOS and android in the years that followed. He started working with Cordova 3 years ago and hasn't looked back since! Meteor is a relatively new tool in his toolbox (about 6 months active development), but he absolutely loves it and believes it is the future of mobile app development.
Risks and challenges
This project will be completed with or without the Kickstarter. As such, there is practically zero risk of this project not being completed. The main issues that could arise are all around timing. As with any technical based project, snags can occur in the release. The good news is, I have over 10 years of experience dealing these kinds of problems so I do not expect anything to slow this project down upon successful funding. If something does arise that I can't solve in a timely manor, rest assured that you will be informed through the Kickstarter campaign!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
