Hey Zaid! Three of us finished our regular weekly meeting a few minutes ago :)
We were mainly discussing and testing our "fog of war" effect which darkens the areas/rooms you're not in, and hides the people in it. Also working on animations for animals (spider, vulture and rat right now), elevators functionality... and writing dialogues (as always) :)
As for regular updates, we aim to have one every three months, so the next one should be in August!

Everything's going smoothly right now, not much newsworthy stuff though :)
We redesigned the look of in-game text / dialogues, so we hope to have some new screenshots to demonstrate that in the next update, which will hopefully be up in 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for your thoughts and the advice on the subject! That's exactly what we are facing - we do feel like we should post an update every month or so, but at the same time it feels like we are almost spamming people if there is in fact nothing substantial in it. So we wait until there is more content, and then feel guilty about not posting for so long. :)
But I really like your idea of posting those short not-really-an-update updates here in the comments, and we might do just that in the future :)
We also try to tweet more often than post updates (http://twitter.com/moonburntstudio), so that's also something I guess.
Just a note, regular communication will make a big difference in keeping backers happy over the hard graft right now. It's difficult to find something to say when you're just grinding away at the game itself and there's no real news to update about.
Even if it's just a "hey, everything's still fine, we just don't have any news to post" once a month in the comments is really all you need to keep people happy. Backers tend not to be after consistent proof of progress as they are just a regular consistent reminder that this is still going. We understand if it takes months between major milestones, or we wouldn't have backed a game dev project. But anyone who's backed more than four or five projects has likely backed something that went wrong and the creators just went permanently silent at least once, and it is helpful to have a regular post just to reassure people that this isn't one of them. It's easy to get nervous with Kickstarter projects.

Hi! Not sure if I understand your question, but all the rewards will be delivered when the game is finished - so not in 2017.
And if you are asking about unique digital rewards (name, appearance in the game etc), don't worry - we will contact you in time, during the development. We are mostly focused on basic gameplay and technical stuff for now, "bells and whistles" will come later :)

@Srdan Also, I think that the current, subtle story-altering way of choosing solutions in this game is more innovative than the standard "would you like to choose A or B" style of a lot of other games currently on the market.
@Srdan I don't know if voices are such a good idea. They cost a lot of time, money, effort, and don't really add much; especially in a game like this, where the silent characters and the silhouette characters add to the game's "mysticism".
Bravo! Finally got round to playing the Mac demo and the atmosphere of the game and its premise really work to draw you in. With voices and a friendlier display of text/choices, it might just be the game that gets me back into gaming.
@Torborg As our game is VERY focused on the development of the main character, his past and his future, unfortunately it is not really possible to just swap a silhouette and animations because many possible stories and connections to the other characters would not make sense any more and the story flow would sometimes feel unnatural. However, we would love to implement this option if we happen to secure a decent amount of additional funding!

I was wondering when I saw the T-shirts (and before reading about the NPCs), would it be possible to choose between a male and a female protagonist? There are so many games out there where the main character is a guy, and maybe it could be an easy thing to allow players pick a female sillouette instead. If the main character has a spoken voice-over it may get more tricky as it would require an additional female voice-over, but if the main character doesnt say anything it should be fairly easy to allow players this freedom of choice.

Whoo! 1,000! Are they +7 or +8 hours of Central US? Worried when they start streaming, if they were streaming to end, they will be awake enough to get home carefully. There have been cases of parked cars jumping out from other KS streams over there.
