About

THE PROBLEM

There is an area of corporate responsibility that is largely neglected, but represents one of the most pressing issues in the world today: the need to teach the community-at-large how to be safe on the Internet.

This neglect exists in spite of the Internet's largest corporations establishing policies of social responsibility, partnering, and building inclusive communities. Effective education of the general public in Internet safety is virtually nonexistent. Society has not been taught how to avoid online scams. Internet criminals victimize millions of people every day, knowing they do not know how to defend themselves. To quote H.G. Wells, "Civilization is in a race between education and catastrophe."

THE SOLUTION

All Internet users need local Internet safety community trainers to teach them how to be safe on the Internet. The Internet Safety Group aims to assemble a comprehensive team of community Internet safety trainers able to help Internet users everywhere. Internet safety should be taken just as seriously as seatbelts and heart attacks.

Live classes are the best way to deliver the Internet safety message, and Internet Safety Group Founder Dave Moore has been providing proven, actionable Internet safety training for over 10 years. Through his free, one-night class, "Fight The Internet Bad Guys & Win," thousands of everyday Internet users from all ages and backgrounds have been empowered with easy to understand safety methods. "Internet safety community training for everyone!" No one else is doing what we are doing.

Responsible individuals and corporations are in a unique position to support solutions to the vital issue of Internet safety community training. With Kickstarter funding, Dave is ready to tour the United States and beyond, spreading the Internet safety message, mentoring others to become established as community Internet safety trainers, and stopping the global cybercrime wave that is plundering the innocent.

GET INVOLVED

The Internet Safety Group aims to partner with YOU, responsible individuals and corporations. Together, we can make widely and freely available effective "Internet safety community training for everyone" a reality.

Funding of the initial target amount will enable a 6-month tour of the United States, presenting "Fight The Internet Bad Guys & Win!" to audiences at 20 select public libraries around the country. At each location, potential Internet safety community trainers will be hand-picked to receive specialized, one-on-one instruction in how to effectively present the Internet safety message using Dave Moore's proven methods.

Funds raised in excess of the target amount will expand the scope of the tour, moving towards the goal of providing extensive, wide-ranging Internet safety training for all communities.

Risks and challenges

This project definately has it's own unique risks and challenges, but they are not unmanageable. Scheduling a tour of this scope will require lot's of focused effort, but I do have experience in this area, and Internet Safety Group has a wonderful group of advisors and planners to help. With dedicated attention to scheduling, promotion, advertising and logistics, I believe we can do a fantastic job!
