This campaign is the fruit of 2 years of love and labor, from the conception of the game design to to the hand painted illustrations. We believe Henchmania can bring life and fun to your home and wish to see it distributed internationally.
These are times of great unrest in the quiet medieval burg of Montfleury: the king must soon appoint his new Bailiff. As is tradition, the contending Lords must use of every ruse and trick to gain the coveted position.
This is both a strategic and fun game, perfect for an evening amongst friends. Your mission is to acquire as many Prestige points during a four-day battle (four periods of the game). You will have your loyal Henchmen to do your bidding. What they lack in intelligence, they make up for in blind devotion to their masters, which is legendary... They will help you earn cards which in turn will gain you Prestige...
Objective of the game
To gain as many Prestige points as possible for your Coat of arms. A game is divided in 4 periods , each period has 3 phases:
1 - Place your Henchmen
2 - Play your cards
3 - Add the numbers
Montfleury is divided into 5 sites, each with its specific deck of cards, bestowing different advantages. Place your Henchmen on different site to develop your strategy.
Place your Henchmen
You'll each have 8 Henchmen pawns. Each time you place a Henchmen on a site, he'll bring you back a card, which means you'll have 8 cards in hand at the end of that phase. There is a limited amount of spots on each site. The player with the most pawns on a site gets an extra card.
Play yours cards
At your turn, you can play the effect of a card. You can either play it directly from your hand if it's an Action card or from your Reserve if it's a Reserve card. The effects are self-explanatory to be understood while playing. When all the players have decided to stop playing, they have to discard all their remaining cards. However, the Reserve cards are not discarded and are usable during the whole game.
Fight a duel!
At your turn, you can challenge an opponent to a duel by playing the Glove card. From now on, you're the Attacker and your opponent becomes the Defendent. Prepare your dice!
If you decide to fight with bare hands, you'll have to score 6 to hit him. If your Henchmen have brought you back a weapon during the Placing phase, you'll have more chances to succeed with your dice.
The Defender will have to parry your successful dice and he can also use the equipment found by his Henchmen. If he does nor succeed, you'll immediately earn 5 Prestige points for your Coat of arms.
It is possible to win the game without challenging to any duel, but duels are an excellent way to make the difference because you earn prestige points and your opponent lose some...
Add the numbers
At this phase, you can report the Prestige points from your Reserve cards to your Coat of arms. For example the Performances in the Castle bring many points. Move the First Player pawn and get your Henchmen pawns. A new turn can now begin…
At the end of the 4th day, the player with the most Prestige points becomes Bailiff. If a player reaches 30 Prestige Points before the 4th day starts, he immediately wins the game.
We loved the Henchmen idea and so we build the rules of the game so that the player could give them orders. We wanted to create that would be fun to play with friends, without too much of the strategy element.
To be in phase with the Henchmen personnality, we worked with atypical graphic artists, with their own style. The universe they have created has been a valuable addition to the story and game design. The Henchmen are ugly, a bit stupid, but they obey you because they love you... Each character from Henchmania is drawn and painted by hand, which makes them so human.

Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter campaign but we had a successful campaign on Ulule.com, a French crowd funding platform. We will deliver our first games in September. Most of the issues have been identified and solved and we now stand ready to face all challenges!
For this Kickstarter campaign, the box contents have been finalized and ready to be printed. The Stretch Goals are well advanced and will be finalized shortly after the end of the campaign.
THE ZERO RISK DOES NOT EXIST BUT EVERYTHING IS SIMPLER WITH CARDS.
The cards and the board and the main elements in Henchmania. The project is therefore less risky than with figurines.
But, even though we feel we are well-prepared and picked great partners for printing or logistics, we could be subjected to an unexpected turn of events, such as an Imperial cruiser crashing in the Gobi desert, an Orc invasion or other trouble… This could delay the project delivery but rest assured that, if this was to happen, we would keep you informed.
All pledges can be refunded "no question asked" up to 60 days before the games leave our manufacturer's warehouse.
If the refund is requested more than 30 days following the end of the Kickstarter campaign, 15% service fees will be applied. This is due to the Kickstarter fees, the payment platform fees, and other suppliers fees.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All costs displayed in $ are based on the exchange rate in effect during the first day of the campaign (1€=$1.12).
By pledging on this Kickstarter, you acknowledge that the final appearance, materials and content of the rewards (and the Kickstarter) are subject to change and may differ slightly from what is presented during the Kickstarter campaign.
Be aware that all pledges that are confirmed after the pledge manager deadline will be shipped from the US hub at a later date. For non-US backers that will likely incur increased shipping costs.
You agree that our responsibility to you is to ship your order as initially placed into our pledge manager system, that title and risks pass on to you upon delivery to a common carrier for such shipment, and you are responsible for import duties or any other duties that may be payable to the relevant tax authorities, providing correct address information and ensuring this address is deliverable by normal methods. We regret to inform you that we are unable to ship to PO Boxes.
Please note that while we do our best to get you your rewards in a timely manner, you may not necessarily receive your rewards before the product makes it into distribution in your own country or before it's made available in conventions and special promotion opportunities. We hope that the special price and exclusive items you will get during the Kickstarter will make up for any such possible lag. However, if this is something that is not acceptable to you, please do not back this project, and instead wait for the retail release.
