We believe home automation is an experience where everything is done for you so you can sit back and enjoy your life. With Helium, we created a smart light that learns from you and turns the right light at the right time. Besides, it offers night shift and Wi-Fi extender capabilities that you would never expect from a smart light.
Machine Learning Scheduling - It turns the right light at the right time.
Others put switches on your phone. We want to put effort on making the smart light smarter. Helium is smarter than other products because it knows more. It knows where you are, what time is, when the sun rises and sets, local weather, and more. It learns from all these data and it applies machine learning algorithms to predict what you want.
Here are some cases in your daily life with Helium:
As you enter a dark room, Helium senses that you entered by measuring BLE proximity and turns on your lights.
When you go to the desk and sit on your chair, the desk lamp turns on with appropriate color temperature and brightness according to the current time.
You normally sleep at 11:30PM on Wednesday. Helium notices the pattern and pops up a notification at 11PM. If you ignore it, the light will turn off at 11:30PM. However, if you have extra work to do today, you can opens up the notification and select “give me a moment.”
You wake up in the middle of the night and want to go to the bathroom. Helium notices it’s 3:40AM; therefore it gives you a notification that asks you if you want to answer your natural call. You select yes, Helium turns on the light in warm yellow color and minimum brightness so you can find your way without hurting your eyes.
Master Mode - Intelligent, but you are still the boss.
Helium is so intelligent and automatic that you do not need to do anything for most of the time. But you still have control. To make it easier, we apply machine learning to predict what you might want to control and provide quick action notifications right on your lock screen for faster access.
Night Shift - The smart light that follows the rhythm of the Sun.
For thousands of years, humans have evolved based on the color and intensity of the sunlight. Our bodies are evolved to respond to the light around us both physically and mentally. However, in the past hundred years, we stay under the artificial light that doesn't change at all. Studies have shown that exposure to bright blue light can affect our circadian rhythms. Too much blue light exposure will excite your nerve and make it harder to fall asleep.
No more. Helium turns on in 5,000K cool white during daytime to keep you energetic for work. As sleep time approaches, Helium gradually shifts to 2,700K warm white with lower brightness to relax your body and prepare you for sleep. If you prefer, you can let Helium wake you up by simulating sunrise to make it easier to get up.
2400-2700K: Comfy-Cozy color temperature – Easy to our eyes. Ideal for dozing off or reading books.
3000-3500K: Laid-Back and be productive – similar to traditional 100W halogen bulb. It is still a yellow-ish hue, but much closer to basic white. Ideal for night time lighting purpose.
4000-5000K: Performance boost – It is the closest to direct sunlight. Ideal for working with this intense get-down-to-business quality light.
Li+Fi - Let there be light. And Wi-Fi.
We carefully place lights to cover our rooms, but not our routers. Most people have one router and hide it at the corner of a room, which creates Wi-Fi dead spots. To solve this, people buy Wi-Fi extenders that may cost hundreds of dollars. Not only do they occupy your power outlets, but also create a mess.
We came up with a creative way to solve this problem: by integrating a Wi-Fi extender into the light bulb, we can have a network of Wi-Fi extenders all over your home. They enhance the Wi-Fi signal only when the signal weak. This way, you can always have the best Wi-Fi coverage wherever you are.

Helium Hardware Alliance - Opens up countless possibilities.
Light bulbs come with different sizes, shapes and socket standards. It is impossible for us to make everything. However, the heart of smart light bulb is the same - they all share the same chips and firmware. Instead of creating everything ourselves, we are cooperating with light bulb manufacturers to create smart lights with Helium hardware embedded. By doing so, traditional light bulb manufacturers can enter home automation market easily and we can have more choices for our customers.

Production is always the biggest challenge for startup companies. Fortunately, smart light bulb has been around for years. The hardware components and manufacturing process are mature enough to deliver our product on time.
We are confident that we can deliver everything on schedule. However, if there are features that don't meet our quality standard by the deadline, we will choose to hold it until it works smoothly as advertised because we strongly believe that quality is more important than quantity.
