Infinity Drive is the name of an album of demos created by UK musician/composer John Ellis with lead vocals provided by Paul Roberts.
The 12 songs on the album were originally recorded in 1998 as part of a pool of songs that would be considered for a new album by The Stranglers. John and Paul were both members of the band at this point in time.
All of the instrumentation and production was by John and Paul delivered a remarkable lead vocal performance over a couple of days.
The producer of the new album came to John's studio and was happy with the material, which he took away to play for the rest of The Stranglers and their management. However, for whatever reason, it was decided that the songs would not be used for the album that was eventually released as 'Coup De Grace'.
For many years the tracks have been available to stream on Soundcloud but many Stranglers fans have been asking if Infinity Drive would be made available as a physical CD, so Paul and I have decided to launch this campaign to make that possible.
This is a small campaign with only a few rewards on offer and will run over two weeks.
Risks and challenges
This is a fairly low risk project. The music is finished and mastered so all that is required is a quick photo session and some graphic design before the files go off to the CD replicator. Prices have been checked and the target is a realistic one that covers Kickstarter fees, production costs etc. I have made the delivery date late enough to fix any unexpected production problems.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
