About this project
A Child of War film is written and directed by Bellevue College creative students to promote a National Children's Day in the USA.
The story of this film is about a girl (Brenda) whose father was killed in a war while he was serving as a United Nations' Peace Keeper. Brenda is wishing to have a gift like a giant balloon so she can send a message to her father. At her 12th birthday her dream comes true.
Brenda is beyond her age! She is experiencing many paradoxes in her life that she is trying to manage such as having friends who are coming from fortunate and unfortunate families.
In the film a new version of the Birthday Song is being presented. Our story hero's friends are going to sing and dance for her at her birthday party. At the end of the film the audience understands that the entire story is derived from Brenda’s book!
The film addresses young girls with different conceptions and thoughts of their worlds. Characters are experiencing a huge amount of emotions and positive feelings about each other especially Brenda.
