As many of us know, Hull is a wonderful hub of creativity and we believe we should do all we can to help support and keep it alive. Unfortunately RED gallery, who showcase arts of all media, have lost a large amount of funding. This is where we need your help.
Hull has incredible diversity; from intense metal to brilliant indie to bouncing house music, but one of the often overlooked areas is within the more alternative areas of electronic music - something we at Mola Mola love.
So, to help raise money for RED Gallery, and spread word of Hull's diverse electronic artists we’re putting together a compilation of music from Hull. So get involved - even if it's only a small contribution and help us support local creativity.
Who is Mola Mola?
Mola Mola is a music and arts collective based in Hull, East Yorkshire.
We're a group of friends comprising of musicians, artists, DJs and all round culture lovers, created to bring wonderful things to the public.
As well as releasing music, we put on events in the city and further afield. We're constantly collaborating with each other and although we all know each other, we're always happy to welcome new people to the fold and collaborate, so get in touch.
Who is RED?
Since RED opened in 1997 it has provided Hull with an independent exhibition space and 'laboratory' for contemporary art.
The gallery's viewing audience has been growing steadily with around 200 visitors attending each exhibition. In between the formal exhibitions the gallery offers the opportunity to local art students to organize and publicize their own shows.
RED is a non-profit making initiative, run collectively by a small group of local artists.
We've got a whole bunch of brilliant artists from across the city already on board, so we're super pleased to introduce:
DXN, Government Yard, MyOneManBand, Weird Ribs, Jakkala, Teotl Expansion, Counting To Zero, Apple Max
