After successfully ridding their city of crime for the last twenty years, two middle aged superheros return to work by causing some havoc, in order to renew their health care benefits.
Friends Without Benefits is a short film project conceived and written by John Szablewski and Kyle Mecca, two Television and Film Arts students at Buffalo State College. (www.buffalostate.edu/tvfilm) In a collaboration of different class levels and departments. The goal is to create a short film that tackles social issues and brings laughter into ironic situations. The film will also be entered in film festivals such as JUST FOR LAUGHS, SUNDANCE, and, THE SUNYWIDE FILM FESTIVAL.
Starring Tim Joyce, a theater professor at Buffalo State college, who is best known for his Stand-up Comedy and has appeared on both Comedy Central and ABC, in the role of Sidekick.. www.thejoycer.com
Now, what better way would there be to spend that premium payment to your insurance company on, then this project? After all, superheros are people too!
Money raised will go toward production costs such as: Kraft Services during shoots, securing locations, compensation for actors and crew members, costume building, prop creation, travel fees, crew premiere party, the film premiere celebration, as well as entry fees for festivals.
Funding will also be used for promotions, DVD reproduction, and mailing fees for festival entry.
