A Million Miles is a novel written by Amy Fleisher Madden. It is a no-holds-barred coming of age story told with the burgeoning indie/emo music scene of the late ‘90s set as the backdrop. Get in the van and drive around America with Maddy Traeger and her favorite band, Crimson + Clover. This is not a story of arenas with flashing lights and luxurious tour buses; it’s one of dank dive bars and all night drives in a hot-boxed sardine can. This story takes place in a scene that has been chronicled, but never truly exposed. You’ll experience through Maddy’s eyes what it’s really like to tour, and completely surrender your life to the fast moving blacktop that is the road.

SO WHO IS "AMY FLEISHER MADDEN?"
I’m one of those people that believes that to get from point A to point B, you should take a detour to point Z first. Actually, scratch that. I don’t really even believe there is a point A or a point B. I’ve done everything in my life on my own schedule, creating a path where there wasn’t one before.
I was born in Miami, Florida in 1979, and I’m not scared to say it. As a newly married woman, my name is Amy Madden. My maiden name is Fleisher and I’m hanging onto that for a little longer for web-crawling-google-search reasons. Also, for a good 10 years of my life I was known as “Amy Fiddler”. This is confusing, I know. Maybe my pen name should be AMY FLEISHER FIDDLER MADDEN? But that's just silly...
My nickname "Fiddler" came from the record label that I started when I was 16, Fiddler Records. As Fiddler Records I released 25 records in ten years. I worked with several artists that went on to sell hundreds of thousands of records. If you want me to name drop, here are the few you might have heard of: Dashboard Confessional, Name Taken, The Higher, Juliette Lewis and The Licks, Recover, The Bled… Have I broken your toes yet?
After running my label, founding the magazine Death + Taxes, and doing various other musical things, I decided to actually finish college. I graduated from The Art Center College of Design in 2009 with a degree in Advertising. I moved to New York City shortly after and that's when I started writing A MILLION MILES.
This book took one month to write and four years to finish, now it's up to you to bring it to life. Funds will go to the printing of the physical copies of the book, encoding for the digital files of the book, printing of the t-shirts, laminates, and extra little goodies.
