WE ARE THE 10:39s AND WE'RE HERE TO MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT FUN AND GET GLAD AND STUFF.
It takes a lot to record an album, especially when you're totally independent of any record labels or rich family members or friends with reckless spending habits. So we, The 10:39s, a band from Denver CO, a band raised on video games and 80s movies, have opted to bring this project to the masses.
It's not quite our first rodeo, mind you. In August of 2011 we released an EP called "Like I Wanted..." to iTunes and Rhapsody. It was a fun project that spurred a bunch of gigs and stuff and even a music video (that we made in a basement. Youtube us, please.).
We've decided to bring it up a notch and record a FULL LENGTH ALBUM at Evergroove Studios in Evergreen, Colorado (entirely solar powered, which is pretty sweet). This includes recording, mixing, and mastering. A grand total of just a little over our goal of $3,000. We figure we'll at least be awful close if we get that much and can get into the studio to get this ball rolling.
A big selling point on taking this to Kickstarter is the opportunity to make this about more than just us. This is an album that we are now asking you to be a part of. We want the 10:39s to be your band, we want our debut LP to be your LP, and we want you to have all the same pride in the project that we do.
So insert coins and continue the legend of the 10:39s.
Risks and challenges
Well the album is already written. Done and ready to get put to digital wax and stuff. So that's not such a big deal.
The studio for recording/mixing is picked and ready to roll. We've recorded there before and love it and it's personnel very much.
We have a few choices for mastering studios. They pretty much just want money for that bit.
The only thing is time. It'll take a little time to get things down just right. Mixing is the same. Mastering tends to be a little quicker. Then we put it all together, put our art on it (which is already done, too), get some discs pressed for those who want discs and upload it to bandcamp and iTunes and Rhapsody and things like that. It's pretty simple, really. Just a process. Your donation is in good hands, Babies. Good hands.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
