Blue Venice is a high-flown fantasy about a young man
who is kidnapped and thrust into the delirious and shadowy world of Blue
Venice. This hallucinatory
adventure boasts a full score of original live music, elaborate and surreal eye candy and an all-expense-paid journey through the seven stages of grief.
name is Heather Fisch. I have been working with an amazing team of
performers, visual artists, costume designers and musicians on the
humble beginnings of what will soon become something truly breathtaking.
I began working on this piece after Karin Watkins from The Mahaiwe Performing Arts
Center offered me a spot in their 2012 season.
point, I had already been developing the beginnings of a project around the 7 stages of Grief, and I realized that this
could be the perfect opportunity to dig right in. I set to work drawing
up a storyboard and calling out to the universe for my cast and crew.
Before I could sneeze, I was surrounded by an amazing group of
artists who came to me ready to jump in and get
their hands dirty. We’ve been working together on the initial
stages of the project, which have mainly included getting acquainted
creatively and drawing up the concept script and design plans.
my imagination soars expansively into this project, I realize that the scope of this project has quickly grown from an exciting concept into a real, developing show, which requires a real-world budget and a
nest to grow from.
The budget funds will help to cover:
Production Expenses - event insurance, theater rental, advertising, professional audio and sound technicians to run the show
Although we have a slew of wonderful rewards for helping to
make this show a bombastic reality, the real reward is the satisfaction
of supporting an amazing new work. Wouldn't you throw down if Mozart
came to your door with a collections hat trying to raise money for the
first production of The Magic Flute?
