My name is Marco Venturelli and I'm an italian guy that always loved board games, so after a while I decided to get involved into something that was only a big dream.

Have Fan is a tabletop game where creativity and managerial skills combine to create fun and original video games. The aim of the game is to acquire as many fans as you can with your games (This is where the word pun of the title comes). Players can choose between two roles: Software Houses, and Judges. Software Houses will have to develop games and get as many fans as possible, as they will be one of the determining factors for victory. The Judges, on the other hand, will need to evaluate these games based on three fixed criteria: story, gameplay, and graphics. There is another key element on which success depends, something which is both natural and unique: imagination. It will be essential for the creation of a game where the features and story are at times fun, at times fascinating, but above all to create scenarios that are always original.

Important premise

The main goal of the game is to have fun playing it, and to rack your brains in an attempt to find the best combinations. Once you have bought a copy of the game, feel free to change the rules as you see fit, from allotting more time to design the game, to giving more cards, or even changing the way points are assigned. The rules should not be considered a strict gospel, but a series of guidelines which can then be customized according to one’s preference.

Box contents

-75 cards divided in 5 groups:
40 plug-in cards
10 hardware cards
10 developer cards
8 game engine cards
7 software house cards
-4 scorepards
-4 pencils
-1 copy of the rulebook

An enormous evolution

The illustrations are just tests made by Spizzina, a very friendly artist. Our next illustrations will be more pertinent with the game itself, made by another great illustrator: Mano Lon!

What's the story behind the project? I'll tell you.
The game was created by me in a boring afternoon, and after a lot of playtesting, I decided to give it a try on kickstarter. The problem was, I had nothing to show. I wanted to create a logo, some cards design, anything that could help me with the goal.
I talked to a dear friend, Emanuele, that was excited about working with me and so he created the design of the cards. It took us plenty of attempts to get the perfect style, but at the end we achieved it! After some time, we were thinking about an interesting logo and another friend, Lorenzo, joined our journey and with him we created it! Then we asked for some drawings to Spizzina and after this we bought the box and some cards, then we created the trailer and the other videos. Everything was slowly building and this is the product of our work.

I really hope that this project will achieve a good ending, because not only me, but also Emanuele, Lorenzo and all the friends that helped me concretely or with their emotive support. Everyone is excited about this, I am so proud of showing it and it made me mature in a totally new way. Thanks for your support, Have Fun (and Fan!).

Risks and challenges

Our main risk is about getting the goal, hilariously. The main problem is about the shipping time and some shipping issues that ALWAYS arrive. I'm sure we'll get rid of these problems pretty easily.
