About this project

As a dungeon master I was getting very tired of having to stand up and lean over my screen to place monster miniatures or see where the player miniatures were located.  Not to mention trying to draw maps. Then half the time I would lean over the flimsy cardboard screen it would fall down! Also found some very useless information on the inside of the screen. Who really needs to know an NPC's personality often enough to have a chart on your screen??

This wooden screen design will solve all those problems.  It has a lower section in the middle so you can see what is happening on the map and yet still gives privacy for your DM secrets.  It is made of sturdy wood so that it won't fall down every time the wind blows.  It is also sturdy enough to clip on your favorite charts.  It even has a dice tray included so your dice will quit rolling off the table!

Risks and challenges

Risks and resolutions:

Initial production: If the entire amount of the target is achieved from only full $75 orders, that would be 80 units shipped. I have the capacity to do that within the time frame allotted. If the quantity ordered gets too great for my capabilities, well over the 80 units, I will outsource manufacturing. I am already searching for a company with a capacity for low initial order quantity. I have performed a cost analysis on smaller quantities produced and this is a viable product from a budgeting point of view. (former CPA with manufacturing budgeting experience)

Appearance: The screen you currently see is a prototype. As the positive suggestions come in I will be making some improvements as well as changes. The shape and ability to fold into a compact bookish structure will not change. Based on the fact that this is to be a high quality DM screen, with a dice tray included, means the materials will be of the same quality. If you are concerned about the materials involved, I am considering several options available from cardboard to a heavier, custom project, hard wood. That would be down the road after this initial project. Currently the project is for a light wooden screen.

If you have any other questions or concerns please let me know and I will address them. Thanks for taking the time to review my project!
