To Our Fabulous Here One Day Kickstarter Donors

Posted by Kathy Leichter (Creator)

Hello dear Kickstarter donors!

As I hope you have seen in my email newsletters, Here One Day, the film YOU helped to kickstart in 2011, is finished and having tremendous success out in the world! It is absolutely thrilling. The film was invited to some of the most prestigious documentary film festivals in the world--IDFA (Amsterdam), Hot Docs (Toronto), the Cleveland International Film Festival, and the Independent Film Festival Boston--and there are more great festivals in the works. Everywhere the film has played, you can feel people’s hearts opening. The discussions afterwards have been absolutely incredible.

We could not be here without you. Thank you.

We will be sending out another email newsletter in the next days, but because you are part of our Kickstarter community, I wanted to give you a first peek at two great articles that just came out about the film:

We are delighted to announce the fall launch of our educational and community screening initiative, which will involve screenings of Here One Day with medical and social work schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, professional organizations, communities of faith, and mental health and suicide survivor support groups across the country.

Please contact us at if you are interested in hosting a screening or have connections to communities, educational institutions, publications, or list-serves that you think would be interested in the film.

Here One Day will also be available for online and DVD purchase in the fall. We’ll keep you posted! We are currently re-vamping our website and expect to have thousands of eyeballs travel through it on their way to buying the film, requesting a screening, responding to a blog post, or gathering info on our resources page. Through Facebook, Twitter, our website, and your powerful word-of-mouth, Here One Day is going viral! Please help us to spread the word!

We are pleased to announce that we will soon be sending out our Kickstarter rewards to those of you who responded to our survey. A reminder that you may honor a lost loved one by submitting a photo or a note to our IN MEMORY OF photo album (which will be located on our new website) to

We are thrilled to see Here One Day reducing isolation, raising awareness, linking people to support, melting away the stigma around mental illness and suicide, and creating a safe space to tell our stories--reminding us all, no matter what our life experience, that we are not alone.

Thanks to you, our dreams are coming true.
