RadicalFlow (RF) is a web based tool that allows you to build iPhone/iPad apps without knowing how to code. It is not a template where you make cookie cutter apps. Think of it like opening Photoshop or Powerpoint with a blank slate ready for your creative input. You can publish your apps through RadicalFlow if you dont have an Apple developers account or download the whole thing and submit to the app store yourself.
RadicalFlow is great for companies, and teams that want to offer apps to their clients. One system for a whole company to use to develop tons of unique individually designed apps. Design, Save, Re-design, Re-Use, Collaborate, Deploy.
For developers who do know how to code, RadicalFlow offers many advanced features that allow you to take advantage of all of your own custom code combined with a rich set of features in a web based collaborative environment.
Building mobile apps, in most cases requires a lot of web based infrastructure to support the app. For example, including Twitter, Vimeo or Facebook interactions or the ability to update content dynamically. RadicalFlow not only allows you to design and develop the app simply, but also has a fully supported web based system to maintain your app. Right out of the box.
We have big plans for the future of RadicalFlow. We will be creating some icon sets, the ability to port to Android devices and building a robust community section where users will be able to share tools, tips and tricks. We built RF out of our own need to create apps quickly and efficiently and we think it can do the same for you.
Your pledge means a lot to us and will help us get RF out into the world, but in order to get this out faster and devote all the time we need to get it done, we need your help. For those who have pledged, thank you so much, for those thinking about it we hope you'll become backers, and for those who have questions, we would love to talk to you.
Add an object to your canvas
Connect content to your object. RadicalFlow supports over 75 API's like: Twitter, Vimeo, Dropbox, Facebook or Instagram. You can also create your own content feed and host it and all of it's data on RadicalFlow's servers.
Design your object to look any way you'd like via Drag n' Drop and RadicalFlow's tool suite.
Test your app by logging into RadicalFlow's producer app to see how it works on the device.
Create an account, start a project and begin developing your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch App. UsingRadicalFlow’s web based Canvas Tool you can quickly design an app and connect it to your content. Test it in real-time with RF’s Producer App until you get it where you want it. From there we handle the submission process for you or download the project and do it yourself.
What kind of Apps can RadicalFlow build?
Awesome ones. : )
RadicalFlow comes with all of the same application templates that Apple’s XCode does. This means all the standard types of apps like Split View Apps and Tab Applications. On top of that you can build your own custom applications with RadicalFlow’s Canvas tool. Think of this a blank canvas that you can use to design, develop and deploy custom applications from. For the designer this allows you to fully implement your designs via the Canvas UI. For Developers this allows you speed up your development process tremendously while still offering you the flexibility to work with your own code in conjunction with RadicalFlow. Although it is in the works, RadicalFlow is not setup to build games.
Some key thoughts about why we made RadicalFlow, what led us here and the choices we have made so far:
We have been designing and developing in iOS and Web since the beginning and all of the work related to RadicalFlow comes out of our need to create tools for our own use that we thought would make our lives easier both on the design and development side.
As much as possible we have tried to adhere to common standards of both design and development and not re-invent the wheel unless we feel it absolutely needs re-inventing. We strive to make our tools compatible with the standards of design and development that people are used to in order to keep the learning curve to a minimum. We’re all busy, probably too busy which is what led us to making RadicalFlow in the first place. It’s all about Quality, Simplicity and Flexibility.
This is a work in progress, and we see ourselves as a part of the larger community of developers, designers and innovators. We of course have a long laundry list of functions, tools, designs and ideas that we want to implement, but our focus is on usable, simple and elegant tools. We have chosen carefully and want to implement what is best for the RadicalFlow Community and take into account how the product is being used, what types of feature requests people are chatting about and what will make this a better user experience.
RF is a tool that designers will love and easily integrate into their workflow. It uses common key commands and design standards we are all familiar with. You don’t need to learn a new language, just expand what you can do with the one you already use.
Yes! RadicalFlow is pure Objective -C and allows you to combine any code with our Canvas. So that means you can work on a project together with a developer an include any of that persons custom UI or Objects and easily combine things made from the Canvas Tool and anything any other developer creates.
The money that comes in from KickStarter helps us in the following areas:
- Adding to our development and design team. This stuff takes a lot of time. Design and development includes Research and Development, design , coding and eventually expanding to other platforms.
- Server Costs
- Legal Fees
- Marketing & Promotional costs. Email campaigns, PR campaigns all the things that go into getting the product out there.
Don’t worry we have plans. Some of our priorities include:
- Creating a mobile (native iPad) version of the Canvas Tool.
- Porting the RadicalFlow framework to Android devices.
- Continue to add APIs and maintain the 75+ third party & social media APIs we already support .
- Porting the RadicalFlow framewok to HTML5 based web applications built from the Canvas.
- Adding full fledged gaming modules for game developers.
- Adding a deeper level of Open GL and 3D support.
