A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Books are everywhere.
We fill our lives with books
to acquire new information and knowledge.
While the world is becoming increasingly digitized,
books are still relevant.
If there is a break from the past,
it's that you rarely see someone sit down and just read a book.
As we read we also type, cook, and play.
In fact, our hands are constantly kept busy.
Yet the freer our hands are, the freer our thoughts become.
Booklign liberates your hands so that you can read hands-free
and immerse yourself in reading.
Books don't divulge their secrets easily.
Because of the way books are made, their weight often shifts to one side closing the entire book and losing your spot. Have you ever tried to hold your page but lost it using your hand, elbow or another object?
Booklign uses an aligned bookspine to eliminate this problem. Booklign lets you align the spine of your book in a slot that eliminate this problem. Because of its smart, foldable design you will never lose your place again. Booklign is portable, readable and enables you to have complete focus while reading any book.
Regular book stands are problematic. Their weight shifts to one side, closing the book and losing your place!
Booklign readjusts the weight of your book to aecenter slot so that your spot is saved every time.
Booklign's foldable spine is under international patent pending and its multi-folding center slot is one of a kind.
Improve readability and focus
by keeping the book open to the page of your choice.
Easy Page Turning
Good posture comes from comfortable viewing.
It is better to read books that are standing up.
This relieves eye fatigue and doesn't put stress on your neck or spine.
With increasing digitization
the landscape of libraries is changing.
There used to be only books on desks
but now they are places right beside laptops
It is common to see people straining back and forth
between their screens and the books they read,
increasing eye fatigue and decreasing focus.
It is important to read books standing up at the proper angle,
especially when reading while working on a laptop.

Technology is embedded in our lives, including smart phones, smart watches, household AI, autonomous cars, and more.
As technology expands more and more, even the small gaps in your life are being filled with digital devices.
A lot of our day to day output is produced by a keyboard and mouse,
But is it possible for humans to study and learn exclusively through digital devices?
Studying and learning still puts a lot of weight on what is analog.
Helixon embodies this sentiment.
Risks and challenges
Booklign was extensively proto-typed and tested. Our final hurdle is to translate its design into production tooling. To minimize risk, so we have been working with a automotive manufacturer experienced in mass production of commercial products and quality control.
We will start manufacturing the current Bookligh design as soon as we meet our target. Shipping will begin in summer of 2018 so we plan to place the first manufacturing order by May. We'll iterate, review samples and do quality control in Jul and Aug. Sep. 2018 is our first shipping estimate and we are deeply committed to this release date.
If by chance something unexpected happens, we promise to keep you informed during the campaign and afterward. You can be confident that as an early supporter you are our top priority.
