About this project
If you’re like us, you may be tired of the typical mundane stripes and argyle designs that every sock company tries to shove down your throat. This is where Young Hearted Apparel comes in. Because of our partnership with the official MLB sock manufacturer and our passionate artistic designer, we are more than capable of supplying you with unique and varied themed attire.
Young Hearted Apparel are for those who feel young at heart, not necessarily young in age, but young in mind and spirit. It is not limited to young adults, but for all who possess child-like qualities in an adult world. The clothing and accessories we create attempt to encapsulate all that it means to be a big kid by depicting graphics influenced by art, fashion, music, pop culture, and childhood imagery.
We at Young Hearted Apparel have a strong sense of patriotism and support for the American economy. Because of this, we manufacture all products in America. This includes our apparel, lapel pins, tags, packaging, and exclusive knitted Dri-fit socks. Our hopes are not limited to supplying you with extremely dope clothing to rock during your young hearted antics, but also serve as a case and point that the American apparel manufacturing industry is here to stay.
Our Socks: Dri-fit, lightweight crew socks which contain Pro-grade fabrics known for their hydrophobic, wicking, and moisture management attributes. Our socks contain insulating qualities that act as climate control, and even when wet, assist in keeping your feet dry. The pro-grade yarns used in the construction of these socks are soaked in an antimicrobial solution to help combat foot odor while containing an abundance of cushioned support to reduce friction and blisters. These socks are made from polypropylene and are more durable than cotton socks. We chose polypropylene because it's the same material used in Major League Baseball's socks. We know this because the official MLB sock manufacturer makes our socks.
Employment in the U.S. apparel manufacturing industry has declined by more than 80 percent over the past two decades. That decline contributed to a loss of 750,000 American jobs. This fact alone spoke to us so much that it was a no brainer that each and every product that Young Hearted Apparel created will take its birth in the U.S.
When it comes to the production of your pieces, you will be hard-pressed to find a level of quality higher than what we can deliver. The American Factories we've partnered with have been in business for years, working with companies like Disney and Ralph Lauren. We're confident that you’ll quickly recognize the value in our apparel, and the level of quality and detail that goes into everything we make. As you can see from the map above, everything we make is Made In America, even the tags and packaging used to garnish our apparel.
When we created this brand, not only were the contents important, but the packaging was as well. We wanted to design something that was fun and playful. A box that reminded you of your childhood as soon as you laid your eyes upon it. We got the idea to create a box that mimicked your favorite G.I. Joe or X-men packaging. We wanted to re-create the feeling you felt when strolling down the aisle of a toy store and gazing upon your favorite toy. For us, Young Hearted Apparel is not only about clothing, rather all the things that remind us to relax in a hectic world.

We are raising money on Kickstarter to help with the first production run for our eclectic dri-fit socks. Our biggest expense is the minimum required to knit our designs. While we have secured the manufactures and have confirmed that these designs can be knitted, we lack the funds to execute the first production run of our high end apparel. This is where you come in. With your help, hopefully we will reach our goal, allowing us to share our dream of creating high end, American made apparel at an affordable price.
And just a reminder for all our backers and viewers of our project: If we don't raise enough funds to meet our GOAL, our project WON'T receive any of the partial funding.....Kickstarter is ALL or NOTHING!
We'd like to thank everyone who backs us or shares our campaign with friends and family. A big thank you goes to our team who helped put this together and made this project possible. Please share this with your friends if you believe in our socks and clothing! You can view our shenanigans and antics on instagram at @_YoungHearted and Twitter @_Younghearted or our Facebook at Facebook.com/YoungHeartedApparel
* We Kick It Forward. Meaning, once we reach our goal, and our project is successful, we will put 5% of our profits back into other Kickstarter campaigns in hopes of promoting creative projects around the world.
Risks and challenges
Because we have been working on this company for the past year, conducting hundreds, if not thousands of hours on research, design, and vendor sourcing, we have mitigated most pitfalls that could arise. While most of the fulfillment will be completed in a month following a successful campaign. We decided to extend the delivery date for the socks to ensure that all of the designs are executed to the highest degree. This is the reason for the projected delivery date in April of 2014.
As a backer, you can rest assure that your products, especially your socks will be of professional quality with the highest needle count. This is mainly due to our direct partnerships with experienced manufactures that have worked with Ralph Lauren, Disney, and Major League Baseball. Because of these relationships, we are able to bypass the markups of middlemen and agencies, giving you high quality garments at a low cost.
Week 1: Backer survey (choose design and sizes, provide mailing address, etc.)
Weeks 2-8: Production
Weeks 9-10: Final packaging and fulfillment
***Throughout the fulfillment process we will be extremely transparent, so feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions. We will provide updates throughout the whole process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
