If you found this Kickstarter project, you may be familiar with a coloring book project I created earlier this year: Why is Daddy Sad on Sunday? Disappointing Moments in Cleveland Sports Coloring Book. That project was a therapeutic exercise to help Cleveland fans work through their sports demons.
Lebron is back! The Browns have Johnny Football! The Indians are in the conversation for the playoffs! Cleveland is back, baby!
Hope springs eternal in Cleveland, but this time it feels different. This book is about celebrating the Cleveland sports triumphs of the past in anticipation of our bright future.
It's also about sharing these moments with our children so they can appreciate the rich history that Cleveland sports actually has, even if most of it happened before they were born.
The coloring book will be roughly 60 pages long, with 25 black & white illustrations depicting scenes of notable Cleveland sports triumphs, such as: the Browns' championships, the Indians' World Series victories, and the Cavs' Miracle at Richfield. There will also be some more recent triumphs like the Indians winning the 1995 Pennant, the Cavs' 2007 Eastern Conference Finals victory and the Browns 1987, 2OT playoff win over the Jets. The teams included will be the Browns, Cavs and Indians. My profile pic is an example of what the coloring pages will look like (a larger version has been posted in the Updates section). The pages opposite of the illustrations will feature the story behind these iconic moments. There will be a "Thank You" page, Table Of Contents, and other standard pages.
The money being raised for this book will be going toward the publishing costs, getting an ISBN, the first printing costs, and other various costs related to publishing the book.
Thank you for your support and I hope this book will be the first of many editions to come!
Go Browns! Go Indians! Go Cavs!
Risks and challenges
As with any project, there are potential risks. I am creating all of the copy and artwork, so if something happens to me, there could be problems. I plan on having all of the content done before the funding deadline. Most likely, any problem will only result in a delay in the publication. Overall, this project should go smoothly and is relatively low risk.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
