For almost fifteen years, we've been making Unshelved, a much-beloved comic strip about libraries. Now Unshelved is ending, and it's time to publish our twelfth and final collection, Overdue.

Overdue is the biggest Unshelved collection ever, with 192+ pages and over two years of comic strips written by Gene Ambaum and Bill Barnes, and drawn by Bill Barnes and Chris Hallbeck. It includes Lights Out, a full-length comic book adventure about a blackout in the library.
In the past many of our readers enjoyed getting their books signed by us in person at talks, library conferences, and comic conventions. Since that won't be possible in the future, Bill and Gene will sign each and every copy sold through this Kickstarter, personalizing each copy to the name of your choice, with a quick doodle by Bill.
Backing this Kickstarter is the only way to guarantee your copy. We don't plan to print many extra copies, nor to make them available through book stores or via library wholesalers.
Like our last book Reads Well With Others, Overdue will be a high-quality full-color 6 3/4" x 8 3/4" paperback, professionally printed and bound. You can also opt for a DRM-free digital version in PDF and EPUB formats, or you can get all twelve of our ebooks on our bestselling USB drive in the shape of a card catalog drawer.
