A ghost narrates the story of his death while dancing in a nightclub, and the bizarre sequence of events that happen thereafter.
Ola! Thank you for visiting my project!
Who am I?
My name is Cliff Sargent, I'm a filmmaker in Portland OR, and this is my senior thesis short film at the Art Institute of Portland.
"A Quiet Night" is a 15-20 minute film inspired by Roberto Bolano's short story "The Return".
What is it about?
Our protagonist, Benjamin, dies unexpectedly one night in a nightclub downtown. Stepping out of his own body as a ghost, Patrick Swayze style, he is stuck in a void where he can see everything but can not be seen. Unable to find his girlfriend in the club, he decides to follow his own body to the morgue, where he witnesses the various postmortem procedures, and just when everything begins to become a bit boring...
His body is stolen by two hipster thugs out to make a quick buck and taken to the mansion of a celebrity fashion designer with a very dark secret.
How much is finished?
The film was shot with an industry professional crew in March, and now needs funding to cover the production, post production and festival distribution expenses.
The money raised here will help facilitate the exceptional quality which this film deserves.
What do you plan to do with it?
This film was not made to be sold or make a profit, it was a labor of love created because the story was that good. If funded, it will go out to festivals around the U.S and hopefully internationally as well.
What happens if the project doesn't meet its goal?
Then we do not receive any funding, and the film will never reach its potential. Can't let this happen!!!
When do I receive my incentives?
If we meet our goal, there is a waiting period between funding success and the actual receiving of funds, so it will take a little while, but I promise as soon as they're received, it will get to you as soon as possible.
I don't live in the U.S, can I still donate?
Yes absolutely! All that is needed is a credit card.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
