THE MOVIE
CURTAIN is an independent horror feature film shot by a crew of just four people in New York City and the woods of New Jersey. It's a Twilight Zone-style story about a burnt-out nurse who moves into a new apartment in search of a simpler life. But when her shower curtains begin to disappear through a mysterious portal she discovers there's no such thing as simple in this world...or any other.
GOOD NEWS: THE MOVIE IS SHOT!
BAD NEWS: THE FILMMAKERS ARE BROKE!
After spending our entire personal savings to create Curtain, we have run out of money and have been forced back into our day jobs. As much fun as it would be to live off a diet of only ramen noodles until we save enough money for post-production YOU could help raise $20,000 NOW!
THE PLAN
Once $20,000 is achieved we'll carve into the meat of post-production. A handful of highly skilled professionals (who need to be paid) are ready and waiting to tackle:
- RESHOOTS
- COLOR GRADING
- VISUAL EFFECTS
- SOUND DESIGN/MIXING
- ORIGINAL SCORING
All you need to do is check out our fantastic selection of rewards, choose one and -- BOOM -- Curtain is one step closer to the finish line!
THE FILMMAKERS

Jaron Henrie-McCrea [director, co-writer, DP] owns Jash Pictures Inc., a small production company based in New York City. His movies have won multiple regional Emmys and a Student Academy Award. Jaron loves hot sauce, his wife (Carys), and the Indianapolis Colts. Curtain is his second feature film.
Carys Edwards [producer, co-writer, AD] was born in Manchester, England. A genre lover, she moved to NYC to pursue Screenwriting at Columbia University's Graduate Film Program partially inspired by the thought of visiting the filming locations of Ghostbusters. Carys plans to get a dog and up sticks to LA when Curtain is finally finished.
Vadin Lum You [producer, grip] was originally born in Brooklyn but raised in Tampa, Florida. He moved back to NYC to work in the film/video industry where he produced several short films and helped establish the multimedia company 3Knights Media. Once Curtain is finished Vadin plans to go backpacking through Europe.
Austin Moore [sound mixer, gaffer] is a born and raised NYC sound mixer. Originally, he went to school for fine art photography and later pursued sound with his brother shortly after he got in the business. Austin loves collecting analogue audio gear.
Danni Smith [actor] is an award winning actor based in Chicago. When not on stage or screen Danni loves bubble baths, bourbon, and Bikram. Curtain is Danni's first feature film.
Tim Lueke [actor] is an actor and human being in New York City. A recently added member of Anonymous Ensemble, Tim helps create new works of theatre and film that perform across New York, the US, and the world. He enjoys working with talented friends and risking his life commuting by bicycle.
Martin Monahan [actor] is a Chicago based actor originally from Logansport, Indiana. He played Lloyd Gills in Jaron Henrie-McCrea's debut feature Pervertigo. In Chicago, he continues to appear on stage as an actor and improvisor and studies Shakespeare. In real life, he is married to Danni Smith.
Monster In My Closet [special effects makeup] is a New Jersey based special effects make-up and design studio. Emmy nominated FX artist Jeremy Selenfriend (Boardwalk Empire, The Blacklist) and his team created all of the scary (but secret) elements for Curtain.
THE END
Thanks so much for checking out our Kickstarter campaign and we hope you'll become apart of the Curtain team!
Risks and challenges
If the $20,000 goal is reached then Curtain will be done this year and submitted to film festivals and the filmmakers will breath a sigh of relief. If the goal is NOT reached then the movie gets nothing and it's ramen noodles until we save $20,000 ourselves. We would love to avoid the latter.
