526 DAYS AFTER OUR GOAL!
GREETINGS BACKERS! We hope you had a spectacular weekend while we've been settling back into LA. As promised we'd like to share a few brief highlights from our exciting time during FILM4 FrightFest -- so dig in!
LAX --> HRW!
After a ten hour flight and a quick trip through the tube Team Curtain arrive at Vue Cinemas in Leicester Square where the wonderful folks at FrightFest bestowed badges and good cheer. This photo was taken just seconds before director Jaron Henrie-McCrea dropped his cellphone, shattering it into a billion pieces -- thanks London!
COMPOSER WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD!
After a day of watching great FrightFest flicks (particularly The Mutilator) Team Curtain stopped by the FrightFest karaoke party where composer Adam Skerritt belted out a wicked rendition of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Want to Rule the World". We recommend watching the clip below after a few pints to set the mood and lower expectations.
TEAM CURTAIN MASTER TATE!
Team Curtain managed to sneak in a few minutes at the Tate Modern. Lead actors Danni Smith, Martin Monahan and producer/cowriter Carys Edwards posed for a photo in front of this painting which Kickstarter Producer Lesley Horsman claimed, "I could paint that if I had a step ladder."
EYES AND EARS TASTE CURTAIN!
At 6:25pm on Monday August 31st Curtain was viewed by it's first ever audience! After two years of hard work it was great to finally sit back and let the movie work its magic. A brief Q&A with cast and crew followed and audience members took photos outside the theatre where a special shower curtain was hung for the occasion!
DELICIOUS DREAMS REALIZED!
Though the Curtain premiere was a roaring success it could not be complete without the celebratory beef wellington. Special thanks to graphics wizard Andy Butler for finding the Riding House Cafe which is said to have the third best beef wellington in London. Third place never tasted so good!
AFTER PARTY AND BEYOND (FEST)!
Following an amazing weekend of films and fun, FILM4 FrightFest wrapped up with an after party for the ages. It was truly an honor to be a part of such a fantastic festival and it's all thanks to you, OUR MARVELOUS BACKERS, for making our Curtain dreams come true!
BUT THE FUN ISN'T OVER YET! Curtain will have its North American premiere at Beyond Fest on Sunday, October 4th at 9:30pm at the legendary Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, CA on the Steven Spielberg screen! Tickets are FREE and will available at 6pm at the box office. Cast and crew will be in attendance so if you're in the Los Angeles area come by and experience the greatest shower curtain horror odyssey of 2015!
