A survey to all Backers will be emailed after the Kickstarter ends. It will include questions regarding which OS you'd prefer to have on your discs, which digital retailer you wish to download your games from (GOG or Steam), and most important: *Where to send your rewards.*
Pledges (including shipping costs, etc.) will be charged to Backer accounts after the Kickstarter campaign ends, Thursday, May 24th, 2018 at 10:02am PDT.
Thank you for your patience, and remember to watch for the survey after the Kickstarter ends so your rewards can be processed efficiently!Last updated:
I want to support the Kickstarter, but I don't have a credit card. Is there a Paypal or non-credit card option?
Sorry, there is no Paypal option.
If you do not have a credit card, we recommend using a Debit Card or purchasing a Prepaid Credit Card for this one-time purchase use. You can choose the amount you add to the card after determining which reward tier you'd like to support.
Prepaid cards can be found online and at many major retail stores.Last updated:

No. When the Kickstarter ends, the amount pledged will be charged and cannot be adjusted.Last updated:
Will there be any Add-Ons, or options like 'Slacker Backer,' to continue the campaign past the end date?
We've discussed options for extending the campaign and including Add-Ons, and decided the campaign should remain as it was intended from Day One - a limited-time, limited-run opportunity to get an exclusively packaged collection of all of the Myst games - only through Kickstarter.Last updated:
I want two Linking Books - one for a 'friend' - certainly not to sell on the internet! Who would do such a thing? So, uh... How can I get multiple rewards?
We'd love to let you buy four or five Inkwells and Linking Books - you know, for Mom, Dad, Grandpa, & Grandma - but Kickstarter doesn't provide an option to select 2 of more of any Kickstarter's reward tier on a single Kickstarter account.
A workaround has been found though: Make multiple Kickstarter accounts!
We know, it's not an easy solution, and we wish there were a simpler way, but it's the only advice we can give to help you get those Linking Books and Inkwells for the aspiring Artists in your circle of family and friends.
We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.Last updated:
We've posted an Estimated Delivery Date with each Reward Tier. These are Estimates only, and subject to change.
If you're buying a physical reward as a gift, we cannot guarantee between production and shipping that it will arrive by a specific date, especially factoring in Holiday shipping and the delays that often entails.
As soon as we have news to share about items shipping and a more specific time-frame, we'll send out an update.Last updated:
Yes. While the exclusive packaging of the games in the Myst Book, and Gehn's pen and ink well will only be available through this Kickstarter campaign, the games themselves will be updated and available at various digital download locations, starting with GOG.com.Last updated:
If you purchased a digital version of one of the games previously though GOG.com or Steam your game will automatically be updated when the new versions are available.Last updated:
We’re concentrating our resources on simply making the games run well under WIndows 10. Converting the graphics or sounds to higher quality would be extremely resource intensive and is not part of this collection.Last updated:
Yes. The DRC (D'ni Restoration Council) established WiFi in various parts of the cavern including K'veer and Ae'gura. The City Proper and Neighborhoods have spotty coverage, and there is no signal at The Great Zero due to intense ionic interference.Last updated:
This collection is centered on updating the games for Windows 10. There are no current plans to include support for console or VR platforms.Last updated:
The Mac versions are well underway and looking good enough that we have decided we will be able to offer the option of Mac discs. Yay! Spread the word!
At some point after the Kickstarter ends, each Backer will fill out a survey where (among other things) they can choose either Windows or macOS. (No need to do anything until you receive the survey.)
We’ve teamed up with some really amazing people at Codeweavers who specialize in this sort of thing (and are also Myst fans), and they’ve been able to make macOS versions of all the games* from the Windows versions — no additional emulation software is required.
* There are a few caveats, so keep reading…
First Caveat: Myst: Masterpiece Edition is giving us trouble. We’re working on it, but we’re not sure about it. Soooo… we’ll be converting the original Myst to fill that hole.
Second Caveat: Flux. Any of this could change - for the better or for the worse. Because there is testing going on right now, we want you to be aware that there is a little room for some wiggle, but we’re obviously feeling very secure about the Mac versions.Last updated:

After the Kickstarter ends, each Backer will fill out a survey where (among other things) they can choose either Windows or macOS. (No need to do anything until you receive the survey.) This will ensure you get the discs with the games in your preferred OS.
For the digital codes, your choice will be either GOG or Steam.
Either option allows you to download the Myst 25 games from the digital retailer, and those downloads will be able to be played on either Mac or PC, depending on the operating system you're using when you log in to your account.Last updated:
The purpose of this Kickstarter was to make these games compatible with the most recent available operating systems.
We've tested the games on Windows 10 (PC) and macOS 10.13 High Sierra (MAC). We know the games run on these tested platforms.
Other operating systems may be used, but your performance on them will vary.Last updated:
We're still working out the details on this - a survey to all Backers will arrive after the Kickstarter ends, and will include questions regarding which OS you'd prefer to have on your discs, and which digital retailer you wish to download your games from (GOG or Steam).Last updated:
The Linux option has been investigated. It’s prohibitively expensive.
We know there’s a group of people who want the games on Linux, but it’s not anywhere big enough an audience to pay the bill for this.
Some of that has to do with the diversity of the particular Linux setups and how many would need to be supported.
It doesn’t mean in the future we can’t revisit it, but timing-wise and debugging-wise, it’s just beyond the scope for this.
We’ll see if we can revisit that now that we have some resources that might work.Last updated:
Are these native Windows 10 executables or are they old basically old executables put in a compatibility wrapper?
Some of the games we’ve been able to update for Windows 10, but several of the games were built using proprietary development software or middleware that is not longer available. For the latter cases we are using wrappers.Last updated:
Windows 10 and the Xbox console platform incorporate some similar features, and some Xbox games can be played on Windows 10 via Microsoft's cross-platform support. But the Myst 25th Anniversary Collection is simply being updated to run on Windows 10, and Xbox compatibility is not included.Last updated:
Do the dvd copies have the games on them, or are they just the installers? Do we get the nostalgia of switching between multiple discs?
The DVDs have copies of the games on them. Riven will be on a single DVD, so unfortunately you won’t get to experience the “nostalgia” of switching CDs.Last updated:
Each game has different localizations. We are compiling a chart to provide information on each games available languages.Last updated:
How will the MYST book's LCD screen work? Does it run on rechargeable or replaceable batteries, or magic?
The linking panel screen is a 800x480 IPS LCD screen.
It is currently planned to be powered by a rechargeable Li-ion flat pack firemarble (via USB) that should be able to be unplugged and replaced from the main logic board (some disassembly might be required).
Evidently magic will play a big part in the process (but travel to other Ages is not guaranteed).Last updated:
We don’t provide an option for just the Linking Book at this time.
We can make this suggestion: if you want the book and already have one or more of the games, the game codes or discs being included in the linking book reward tiers would make great gifts to friends and relatives who may not have played the game before!Last updated:
No. This collection is only available through the Kickstarter campaign first.
When the campaign is over and the games are released, they will be available for sale digitally on GOG.com and then Steam.Last updated:
Blackbox, the company handling all the reward fulfillment, ships to a lot (but not all) countries.
If your country is *not* included on either of the lists below, but you are able to select your country from the drop-down menu when you make your Kickstarter Pledge for the campaign, your country *will* be able to be shipped to.
Here are the countries which CAN be shipped to:
Cabo Verde Cambodia
Marshall Islands Mauritania
Papua New Guinea
Below are a list of countries Blackbox CAN NOT ship to: (Unfortunately physical rewards are not available for these countries.)
Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
Democratic Republic of Congo
We are using Blackbox to take care of all of the physical reward fulfillment, and they ship almost everywhere… almost. There are several exceptions, and Brazil is one of them. Blackbox’s website states that there are numerous reasons shipping to Brazil is unsupported.Last updated:
Where can I sign up for the "I helped #Myst25's Kickstarter fund in 8 hours and 20 minutes and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" T-shirt? I needs it!
That’s in the same tier as the “Vacation in Channelwood with Achenar.” Unfortunately that tier sold out very quickly.Last updated:
