About this project
The Composer Card series was originally a resource I made for my classroom. Students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades were given the task of studying a famous composer. Taking the form of trading cards, I decided to create flash cards about the great composers of the last 1000 years. Each card provides some basic information about an influential or important composer.
This series will contain fifty composers representing Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, Contemporary and Pop Eras. My project requires research, licenses for intellectual property not in the public domain, materials and publishing costs. I plan to produce enough sets to present to my educational community on the East Coast. But mainly my goal is to offer music resources for educators, since the market is limited and of spurious quality. The Composer Card series will help make music appreciation in schools available in the palm of one's hand.
Your support will help this project go from concept to reality. As an additional incentive, consider a pledge of $150 or more to receive a custom designed card of a composer of your choice.
