CREATIVE SPOTLIGHT – DIGITAL SCULPTOR & CREATURE DESIGNER ANDREW BAKER
I am excited to have the amazing talents of Andrew Baker on board the Mary Doe team. We have been collaborating for a few years on various Zombie and Character designs for Mary Doe and it is always inspiring to see new ideas evolve at his hand.
Andrew also worked for us at Make-up Effects Group designing some of the Demon characters on the feature film I, Frankenstein.
He enjoys working with new technology to push his own design in a new direction for the digital medium. Working across film, games and other entertainment media, as well as fine art, Andrew is a Lead Creature Designer designer at Weta workshop.
Andrew has worked as a Previs artist on The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn and most recently as Lead Creature Designer for Weta on The Hobbit trilogy alongside Richard Taylor and the Weta team.
Andrew’s work has been published in many journals including 3D artist magazine, Digital Art Masters Vol.8, Secrets of Zbrush masters, White Cloud Worlds, The Hobbit Chronicles as well as this year’s Spectrum 20.
