About this project
My Friends and I is an ambitious recording project meant to showcase 15 local bands and draw more attention to our flowering music scene. Bringing together 14 songwriters and a total of 24 musicians in collaboration on 15 tracks. Each song will be very different and showcase the individual artist's style and voice. What makes this a collaboration is that all 24 musicians are making themselves available to each other, as the individual artists/songwriter sees fit. So you may hear Ray Vazira playing Uke on a couple of tracks and drums on a couple others as well as singing backup vocals on some songs. This will be the case with almost every musician on this recording. It is a big idea and it is a complicated process but, we are all true believers in one another and in the power of music to bring people together. Your involvement in this project will help us pay for recording, mixing and mastering of the CD. As well as CD cover art and replication. The project will not stop at the CD release party as we plan to use this CD as a kicking off point, a taste of things to come if you will. Many of those involved have recorded before and will again, while others are busy getting songs together for projects later this year. Either way this collaboration is another opportunity to get the word out about Modesto’s amazing music scene and will most definitely have a positive impact on many local artists.
Risks and challenges
We could face issues with production times and the like, I don’t see anything that couldn't be tackled in short order. Any time you are dealing with shipping you run the risk of delays. I do feel like I have set pretty realistic time frame for production based on my past experiences with projects of this kind. If we were to experience any delays I would be on top of informing all out out supporters and keeping everyone in the loop.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
