On Begley Street is a new webseries from Ed & Rachelle Begley, and you're invited.
ABOUT THE SHOW
"On Begley Street” is a Web series that explores the building of North America’s greenest, most sustainable home. We will follow Ed Begley, Jr. (noted actor and environmentalist) and his wife Rachelle Carson-Begley as they attempt to build their home under LEED Platinum Certified standards. Each episode explores sustainable living and balancing comfort with consumption. Their adventures are often heightened by the Begley’s numerous and comical mistakes which often result in playful bickering between the married couple. And keep an eye open as Ed and Rachelle's high profile friends stop by for a visit and are then coerced into an afternoon of hard labor. Of course, there's lots of how-to information for the D-I-Y-er but it's about living sustainably as much as building sustainably. Mostly, it’s about the Begleys and their 11-year-old daughter, Hayden, as they struggle to do the right thing for the environment, themselves, and the future.
Although the show will often be laugh-out-loud funny, “On Begley Street” will also be illuminating, quirky, informative, playful... and very Begley. Join Team Begley and become a part of their mission to build a better future for planet Earth.
Why are we making a webseries?
A webseries presents opportunities not available in any other format. The format allows for a lot of experimentation and improvisation which is a lot of fun. We can continue to bring focus to issues that matter most to us and to our fans, like sustainable living and social good.
Why do Hollywood and TV stars need funding?
Good question. First, none of the money raised is going to the Begleys or producers of the series. We all want this to succeed, so all money raised will go to the marketing and distribution of the webseries and the creation of this new online venue for social good entertainment.
Second, if we hit our $25,000 funding goal, we're matching it with our own $25,000. The impact of your donations will be effectively doubled.
We also think of Kickstarter as a great way to start off this new part of our creative and professional lives. Like Kickstarter says, “Kickstarter is about more than just money. A Kickstarter project is a great way to connect with your audience and spread the word about your work.”
What we’re trying to fund is more than just a series - we’re creating an a new venue to present original, fun shows promoting social good. A webseries and online platform gives us the independence to make these types of shows.
What's the status of the production?
OBS has wrapped pre-production and we have shot several test segments. Full production is scheduled to start late-February / early March with the project finishing mid 2012.
