Concept for output stage redesign

Hi there,

We have had a new concept for an output stage redesign.

Toying with the idea of the following features :

  • Switching out the drv632 for high quality audio precision opamps which will implement the band limiting filters (@96 kHz). These would be followed by custom line drivers on the breakout board. The line drivers are used to stop ground loops from adding noise.
  • Using 15V off board power to drive larger line levels.

Keen to hear your thoughts on the comments page.

These changes are intended to bring noise levels even lower then they currently are.

For those wanting a phono pre-amp, I think it is a good idea as an input add on card - I will look into this.

      Hi,
I am afraid you are side-tracked a bit? You „sold“ an Audio Injector Card - at least that is what I intended to back. I was looking for a (ultra-) good Sound Card for recording analog audio. Personally I want to digitize my Vinyl and old tape recordings as lossless as possible. So for me it would be a lot more welcome to add some extras on the input side of the card, e.g. a pre-amp for phono, preferably MM and MC. Especially Moving Coil pre-amps are hard to find on HiFi Amps these days.
      Greetings from Germany, Stephan.
BTW: I opted for the balanced version as a „nice to have Option“. Why do you use Jacks instead of regular XLR connectors?

What is the purpose of these possible changes and how would it affect the project backers.
