Functionality

Battery power

Jack a 12v SLA battery as input power.

Subthreshold Battery protection

Using the voltage protection setting, choose a shutdown voltage from 9 to 12.5 v in roughly 0.5 v steps. 

Once the protection sets in, the device enters subthreshold electronics mode - where microamps of power are consumed until 0 amps are consumed. This is the first product on the market with subthreshold protection - offering thousands to infinite times better protection for your batteries.

The system turns on again once a solar panel is powered or a wall adapter is plugged in.

Solar and Wall Trickle Charger

Incorporates a trickle charger so that you can re-power your device. Choose to re-power using either a solar panel and/or a wall charger. The panel and wall adapter are not included.

Override enable

Once in protection mode, you may override to enable if the battery voltage allows.

5v + USB supply

Provides a 5v supply of up to 2.1 A. Including two USB sockets for you to power your phones/devices.

Relay Controls

Provides three relays for you to control. These relays pass the input to either the off or on pins allowing you to control power in off and on modes for each relay.

Each relay has a through hole connector for controlling the solenoid (the relay enable switch). This allows you to jack each relay control as you require to different GPIO pins or go entirely off-board.

Raspberry Pi format 40 pin header

Providing 5v over the GPIO pins to power your Pi and also allows you to jack GPIO pins to control the relays.

12v, 5v and 3.3v Rails

Allows you to power all sorts of devices directly from the board, providing plenty of connections for 12v, 5v and a small current 3.3v rail.

The 3.3v rail is only available if a Pi or compatible embedded system is plugged in - it is a low current 3.3v provider.

Solar or Wall standalone options

Use this device without a battery and supply power directly from the solar panel or the wall adapter (not included).

Risks and challenges

This is a low risk product as we have a history of producing and delivering Kickstarter projects on time.

This project has been prototyped and tested prior to launching the campaign. There will be your through campaign modificaitons and changes, however we plan to fully test as we go.
