I am genuinely thrilled and overwhelmed at how much support you've bestowed upon me and this project! With still 19 days remaining, you have enabled me to entirely fund my very first Kickstarter project and I can't express how grateful I am for this.
Though we reached our goal, please know that any additional contributions or support will still be abundantly helpful and each backer still receives a piece of art. Additionally, as a result of your support, I am inspired to expand this project even further. I will begin a new small set of Memphis landmark paintings with the extra support we receive.
Consider it another year toward preservation that I hope will spark fond memories to many of us in this city.
Again thank you so very much. I couldn't be doing any of this without your help.

Aside from my body, I like things old. Old postcards attract a particular venue in my heart. I noticed many of them were actually illustrated. This artistic way of preserving a landmark or moment in time is something I've sought to recreate in my work.
Memphis Type was a photography series created by Jeremy Greene and his 2010 intern Meghan Besinger as a way to document landmarks and old signs in the city. The series inspired me because I have a great love for typography and for Memphis and the art within it.
To follow my favorite "kicky" style of preserving history, I chose to create illustrated works of art from these photos. Now, the Memphis Type website no longer exists and most of the Memphis Type Illustrated paintings have been sold. I've already seen signs I painted be taken down in just a couple of years.
Help me preserve the art of Memphis, found in unusual places and fading fast. Only you can help me make these prints of a growing and endearing city available to everyone at a good price!
All pledge levels receive a piece of Memphis history! Check out the Rewards to take home anything from an electronic printable to full-size prints kissed and signed by me, or even an original work of art!
Thanks for your support!
Risks and challenges
Once we're funded by all you lovely people, getting the actual prints made will happen very easily. The original paintings have already been photographed and the files are ready to go to the printer.
The major challenge that will come with this project is getting all the rewards sent out. However, tubes of lipstick are standing by and our group of supporters are ready to roll up their sleeves and start writing addresses!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
