Every little bit really does count, thanks for being a part of "Something so Beautiful!"
There are times in life when possibilities present themselves. I am grateful for every opportunity that I am able to perform with my eldest son, Nelson. In the fall of 2018, he will attend Earlham College. I am not sure how much music we will make together during or after his college days. But as part of his gap year, he wanted to record and tour with me. How can I say no to that?! Needless to say, we are very excited to record a CD. And we are asking you to be a part of it. Our Kickstarter goal is to raise $4,000, about half of the cost to make the CD.
How does this work?
See the GREEN button over there that says "Back this project"? Click on it to see the contribution options available. Scroll down to see what sorts of rewards you receive at the different levels. There are a variety of things from homemade jam to a performance in your neighborhood. You can get involved for as little as the cost of a download of the new CD, Something So Beautiful.
As some of you already know, Kickstarter is an All or Nothing campaign. If we don't reach the goal by the November deadline, no credit cards will be charged and no rewards fulfilled.
Here is one of the songs on the upcoming CD:
With your help we can pull this off. We hope to raise the funds by the end of November, record and mix in December and January and have the CD out by the beginning of February. The money raised will be used to rent studio time, engineer, mix and master, duplicate the CDs, pay additional musicians, etc.
Currently, we are booking gigs between January and May and would love to come your way. If you'd be interested in a CD-release concert but pledging for a show near you is a bit too steep, send an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let's figure out something when we are already planning to be in your area.
Whether it's your home, school, workplace, nursing home, prison, church, coffee shop, etc, we would love to brainstorm about creating some music near you. (email@example.com)
We are excited about this new CD and invite you to jump on board and support this project today. PLEASE tell your friends and family, and THANK YOU so much!
If you read this far, you are crazy beautiful. And if you didn't read this far, you are crazy beautiful too; it's just that we don't get to tell you in the fine print.
Risks and challenges
Recording is never predictable. There is always a chance that the timing of the CD-release will change. But we are hopeful with the February 1, 2018 release date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
