About this project
What is RPI Night Luging?
Our project's idea is to make a film about taking the extreme sport of street luging to the next level by filming and luging at night. We already have all the production equipment we need, (Cameras, tripods, Steadicam's, etc.) and the necessary skills and software for post-production. What we need your help with is the actual props for the film, i.e. the luge and associated safety devices.
The $2000 will be spent in approximately these amounts;
-Race Suit: ~$550
-EL Wire: ~$100
-Misc (rubber brake pads,cones, any production equipment found to be needed): ~$400
All of these prices are approximated, and completely depend on whether we meet the $2000 goal, or even surpass it. If this Kickstarter is successful, we will be happy to provide an exact list of where your money is actually going.
Plan of Attack
If this Kickstart is successful, the above items would be purchased, and filming would begin immediately. We hope to make a short film out of all our footage aiming for between 10-20 minutes.
Every bit of your donations will go towards these videos, with no profits being made. We want to make these videos simply because we love making films and enjoy high octane action.
So. With your help, we can make this amazing idea a reality. Share this on Facebook, Twitter, etc, and thank you for the support, and remember, any contribution helps.

Risks and challenges
The main risk for this project is definitely the risk for injury. Street luging is dangerous enough, and with a crew filming it, and the entirety of the film at night, it's going to have inherent risks of safety that go with it. Luckily, the crew I will be working with on this project will always put safety first, and are really going to make sure no one gets hurt.
If this Kickstarter is successful, the main challenge will be actually completing the film. The crew I'm working with, as well as myself, are all full time students so our days during the week are somewhat occupied. However, I believe that we will be able to get this project done on time, (aiming for November 2012) just because of the commitment that we all have towards this project. We love the idea, and we really want to make it work, and I know that we are all going to work hard to get it done.
