About

Anthony David & AWOL All Walks of Life, Inc.---PROJECTS ATL Youth Album 2014!

"Red Clay Chronicles 2.0"---The Voice of the Youth!

Music can be a powerful tool in sparking the ACTION necessary for ordinary people to become inspired to change their life or their community. Grammy nominated singer/song writer Anthony David is no stranger to creating songs that do more than just entertain. On the album Red Clay Chronicles, David uses his skills to describe community issues such as street crime in the track "Backstreet", to the importance of families in the track "Kinfolk".

Anthony David will work with Atlanta youth to create a youth music album. Anthony David not only has a sincere passion for his neighborhood, the Old Fourth Ward (O4W), he is also a devout youth advocate. Which is why in 2014 David will lead a group of budding young artist on the journey of creating an industry standard album over the course of 22-weeks youth album project! We want to see them actively take part in their own future and create music that inspires others to do the same.

The FUTURE TRACK-With the changing landscape of communities and cities across the nation, we feel its important to not only tell the stories of our past, but to tell to stories of our FUTURE! Which is why we have enlisted the help of KEDGE and the homey Frank Spencer a Master of Strategic Foresight to help us create tracks that will become roadmaps to helping our community turn social initiatives toward aspirational futures instead of waiting to be pushed around by the whims of society.

About AWOL All Walks of Life, Inc. AWOL's mission is to promote and provide self-awareness through the use of Poetry, Hip-Hop and Life. This mission is met by providing project based learning activities coupled with local artist mentors to help youth at-risk realize their full potential.

So what do we need..

BACKERS-Some cash to get things started to cover expenses like music studio recording time, CD-duplication, album mixing and mastering services,  album artwork graphic design, album release party posters, general program supplies, headphones,  memory cards, temp-space rental, journals, pens, pencils, ect.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT- We are also looking for local artist interested in chipping in to lend their expertise to help guide our young artist along a path of success

GOT SPACE?-If so, we need about 1000+ square feet of space located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta to get this show on the road. Got a lot of collaborators to meet with on the regular!

GOT A STUDIO?-We could use the help of any number of Atlanta's professional level studios! We are going to need about 20 hours of studio time to make some of the best music ever!

Experience

Want to know if we can pull this off? Don't think we know anything about creating works of art with kids? Then check out this video link to learn more about who we are and what we do to save kids from the "social landfill". No worries, Anthony David will be working with a highly experienced group of "Do-Gooders"!

About The P.R.O.J.E.C.T.S Youth Album Project

Taught through a combination of classroom style workshops and hands-on training in AWOL’s production lab and recording studio, The P.R.O.J.E.C.T.S(The Positive Re-Education Of Juveniles Everywhere Concerning the Streets) gives students an opportunity to develop their talents while gaining first hand experience in multiple aspects of the music industry, as an artists (songwriting, producing, recording) and a business person (public relations, licensing, marketing). The 22-week program is designed to expand the musical literacy and personal awareness of students using lessons about music history, music theory and creative writing that feeds into a collaborative environment where students work together to write, produce, record and market an album comprised of the best student work from the class.

Risks and challenges

After this project gets funding we may run into a few snags along the way such as making sure we have enough studio time to support all the project work. If we run into a snag here and there, we may have to reduce the amount of tracks for the album.

With so many collaborators, Musicians, Kids, Producers, and even a Futurist involved, scheduling could pose a significant problem. All of these folks are highly qualified professionals donating time to a community music project. While we hope to have the entire project finished by June 2014, we may need to extend a little to accommodate the fluctuating schedules of such an experienced team.
