Damaged - an animated web series

We are creating an animated web series about broken teenager robots adopted by humans. The two main characters are Emily and TJ, robots that were given up after they didn't work at their respective factories and are being put through the public school system by their adoptive human parents, Rebecca and Richard. Oh and Emily has a cat, Humphrey, who's a hitler cat, that hates her.

We plan to release an episode a month following the complicated lives of Emily and TJ through high school as they deal with the challenges of being different not just cause they are robots but because they are annoying unpopular robots.

Here is our intro video to our web series:

The show is created and written by Liz Miele, a stand-up comic in NYC that has been profiled in The New Yorker and featured on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham." www.lizmiele.com (Fun Fact: She also was a co-creator of the popular web series, Apt C3, www.AptC3.com)

Character design is by Adam Record, an Illustrator from Farmington, Utah who illustrates for children's books and has a shop of his art work online. www.AdamRecord.com (Fun Fact: Liz found Adam on Etsy cause she was looking for robot inspiration and fell in love with his work.)

Animation is done by Ben Luce and Grant Lindahl.

Ben Luce lives in Portland, OR and is a recent graduate from MICA. He's freelanced with many clients including a long stint with Anderson Productions, primarily creating graphics for ESPN. http://benluce.wordpress.com/

Grant Lindahl lives in Baltimore, MD. He's a senior at MICA and is one half of the animation due "Safety Head Fred Productions." http://www.grantlindahl.com/ (Fun Fact: Ben and Grant are besties!)

Risks and challenges

One big risk is time. I'm a full time comic who travels a lot, our character designer is a full time illustrator, and our animators have day jobs animating for others. So this is a side project of love and sometimes the money making job gets in the way but we have already started on things pre-money so that if life gets hectic we wont be too much behind. But the goal is release a new video every month for a year starting in March. Another risk is losing our animators due to bigger, more time consuming projects. In that case we'd have to either postpone animation or look into other artists.
