The Smart Pi expansion module extends the Raspberry Pi with interfaces to measure voltage and current in a contactless manner. It enables to control electricity production consumption and turns the Raspberry Pi into a full featured smart meter. All measurement data can be stored and are accessable via the local network or Internet for disposal.

Current is measured contactless via inductive current sensors. In the standard version currents up to 100 A can be measured. By exchanging the series resistor to use other sensors measure currents up to 300A is feasible. 

The module has 4x 3.5mm jack inputs. Measurement of all three phases and even the neutral conductor is possible. To get other dimensional units in addition to the current measurement, the SmartPi module has screw terminals to measure voltage in range of 400V on all phases.
Hereby e.g. the direction of energy flow is determinable.

The interfaces to the Raspberry Pi are electrically isolated to ensure maximum safety. 

Website and REST interface 

Open Source software is written in python and includes all the necessary drivers, a web server with web page and a REST interface. 

All measurement data can be logged and displayed on tablet or smartphone. The REST interface allows to integrate the SmartPi into self-made applications and apps.

Das SmartPi Erweiterungsmodul erweitert den Raspberry Pi um Schnittstellen zur Spannungsmessung und zur berührungslosen Strommessung und wird damit zu einem vollwertigen SmartMeter, der Stromverbräuche und Stromerzeugung kontrolliert, aufzeichnet und im Netzwerk oder Internet zur Verfügung stellt. 

Die Strommessung erfolgt berührungslos über Stromklemmen. Damit können in der Standardversion Ströme bis 100A gemessen werden. Durch Austausch des Vorwiderstandes können andere Stromklemmen eingesetzt und Ströme bis 300A und mehr erfasst werden. 

Das Modul verfügt über 4x 3.5mm Klinkeneingänge. Dadurch sind Messungen an allen drei Phasen und sogar dem Neutralleiter möglich. 

Um weitere Größen über die Strommessung hinaus zu ermitteln, verfügt das SmartPi-Modul über Schraubklemmen zur Spannungsmessung bis 400V an allen Phasen. 

Damit ist unter anderem auch die Richtung des Energieflusses bestimmbar.

Die Schnittstellen zum Raspberry Pi sind galvanisch getrennt und sorgen für ein Maximum an Sicherheit.

Webseite und REST-Schnittstelle 

Die in Python geschriebene Opensource-Software beinhaltet alle notwendigen Treiber, einen Webserver mit Webseite und eine REST-Schnittstelle. 

Die Messdaten können geloggt und auf einem Handy oder Smartphone dargestellt werden. Über die REST-Schnittstelle kann der SmartPi in eigene Anwendungen und Apps integriert werden.

Beispiele die mit dem SmartPi aufgebaut werden können:
