The New Kid is a film noir take on the buddy cop genre.
It stars Michael Easton and Chris Stack as partners who aren't quite on the same page. Sitting in their late 60s muscle car, hours, perhaps days into their stakeout, they finally begin to come to terms with the horrors of the criminal mastermind they're stalking.
If you like the film, blame Dean Imperial, our handsome and talented writer. If you don't, there's no accounting for taste, I guess.
We're really lucky, because Dallas Good from The Sadies is providing us with music. Not only that, the band has already given us a big kickstart by letting us use some Tales of the Rat Fink music for the trailer.
As for a director, The New Kid has Mike Roberts second short film, after Rumbleseat, which has played at over 25 festivals worldwide. His long list of TV commercial and music video work can be seen here!
I know what you're thinking... Who's the producer? BOOM! Bree Williamson.
What are we going to spend the money on, should we be lucky enough to convince you to part with some?
Using a mixture of Greenscreen and CGI, the film will have a gritty, sin-city-like feel. We're using 1:18 scale models for the cars, allowing us to use the classics like the highland green '68 mustang from Bullitt, along with other out-of-this-world super cars in the bad guy's lair.
Though a film like this can cost much, much more, we're asking for just enough to cover the cameras, makeup, actors and the intensive post-production needed.
So please, take a break from writing those fan-letters begging One Life To Live's producers to bring back Michael McBain as a regular and give us whatever you can. Think of it like pre-buying a copy of a movie you'd like to see. Unless you're going for the $2000 option. That's too much to spend on a DVD. Think of that as an investment worthy of wall street!
