Free App That Activates Your Phone For Emergency Calls To Loved Ones Even On Silent
When an urgent call is at stake and you need to get ahold of a loved one, the last thing you want is for them not to hear your call. Notifying your loved one should not be a gamble. Reach utilizes a trusted contact system, that allows user to add a sense of urgency to their much needed call. By utilizing the media and alarm volume on one's phone, we make sure that loved one is Reached. Reach adds extra insurance so that they always answer.
To quickly and consistently connect people in emergencies to those who can help.
Emergencies. Accidents. Life-changing events. They happen to all of us and, almost without exception, they’re vital times when we need to get in contact with people we know to ask them for help.
But what if you can’t contact the people you desperately need to speak to?
What if they’re asleep and/or their phone is on silent? This is an emergency that can’t wait!
What if a parent is at work and not picking up a call that’s trying to tell them their child broke their foot and needs to be collected from school early?
What if… what if…
Reach, the new mobile app, makes it easier to get urgent messages to the sleeping, the busy or just people who’ve got their phones on silent or vibrate.
The Reach app uses sight, sounds and vibrations to let people know that the call coming through is important and needs answering NOW. And it won’t stop until they answer.
None of the annoying click through to voicemail cutting your call short. The Reach app keeps raising the volume until you get an answer or you stop calling.
Be Reachable Always. Never Miss A Vital Or Emergency Call Again.
With Reach on your phone, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that if something happens in your world that requires your immediate attention, you will know about it.
Step 1: Make a list of trusted emergency contacts.
Step 2: Even if contacts’ phones are on silent, the app will vibrate, then ring, get louder, then flash lights, making the emergency call impossible to ignore if nearby.
Step 3: You will be much more likely to reach your emergency contacts in emergency situations.
Reach is an app that, assuming we meet our funding targets, will be available for everyone to download from their app store. There are many life situations in which it could make a real difference:
There could be a minor emergency you need to know about, like a family member getting home late at night and realizing they’ve forgotten their keys. Or your son or daughter’s car breaking down on the highway.
And of course, Reach can be used in all of those more serious situations that happen in life, like a loved one is headed to the emergency room and looking for someone to come and support them.
Users of Reach need to invite others to become part of their Trusted Contacts list. When someone accepts your invitation, it means you will be able to use Reach to get in touch with each other in case of an emergency.
When such a situation arises, the user opens the Reach app and taps the person they need to contact on their Trusted Contacts list.
A call coming from a Reach user will be like nothing that is out there. Much like how an ambulance siren creates an automatic response to move out of its way, Reach will utilize a unique ringtone that notifies all those around that an urgent call needs to be addressed. It will involve a series of flashing lights, vibrations and loud sounds that increase in volume until the call is answered or the initiator stops the call. There will also be a message on screen telling the recipient that someone needs to reach them.
It’s a distinctive alert system that will wake the deepest of sleepers and attract the attention of anyone whose phone is on silent or vibrate.
It’s a fact of life that emergencies, both minor and major, and other life-changing events happen. These are times when it’s often vital to talk to someone.
But with more and more people choosing to lose their landlines and have cellphones as the main means of communication, it’s not always possible to contact these people.
It’s too easy to forget that you left your phone on vibrate or silent, and sometimes, even when the ringer’s on, it’s easy to ignore that same old ringtone and think it’s another unsolicited sales call, or sleep through the sound altogether.
No one will sleep through an urgent alert from Reach. And its distinctive multi-media notification system means you definitely won't mistake an urgent call from Reach as another run of the mill call from someone you don’t want to speak to.
There are situations in life when people simply have to be alerted immediately so they know what’s going on and can advise or help.
Like everyone, I’ve experienced times in my life when I’ve found myself screaming into my phone:
“Pick up!...just pick up the PHONE!”
And when no one answers, the voicemail clicks in and you know your chance has gone. You could be stranded somewhere or really need help, but there’s no way of letting your loved ones know how urgent your situation is if they won’t/can’t pick up.
The idea for Reach came to me when I found myself locked out of my house late at night. I knew my girlfriend slept with her phone on silent. So the only way I could wake her would be to bang on the door and that would risk waking everyone else in the neighborhood. I thought, surely there must be a way to override the settings on a phone of someone you needed to get in touch with?
Being locked out of my house was bad, but it wasn’t an emergency. But what if it had been? What if I was injured somewhere and I was headed to the hospital? I would want for her to answer the call straight away.
There had to be the technology that would allow someone to get in touch with anyone they needed to at anytime. I knew that cellphones had lights as well as vibrate and of course sound, all of which could be used to alert someone that the incoming call was one they really, really needed to answer. So I set about finding the best way of using them.
The Benefits Of Reach
· Get hold of someone you trust in an emergency
· Distinguish urgent calls from all other calls
· No more anxiously hoping someone to pick up and then getting that sinking feeling when you hear, "Please leave your message for ..."
· Enjoy peace of mind of knowing you can Reach, or be Reached by a loved one in the event of something serious happening.
· Wake the heaviest sleepers and alert the busiest people when you need to
Reach is expertly designed as a simple and easy to use app to alert your loved ones that you need help or to contact them in emergency situations. If your Grandma is rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night and your phone is on silent, no one can reach you. Reach is a simple app that allows a short list of your approved emergency contacts to call you even if your phone is on silent.
It’s true that newer phones nowadays have emergency bypass settings which let you designate someone who you can call, even if they have do not disturb mode switched on. There’s also a call twice option.
But with both of these, your phones have to have specific settings switched on. And even then, the recipient will only hear their regular ringtone, which they may well ignore, or even sleep through.
The problem is no one knows when emergency’s happen... so how do you set your phone to match it? Reach only requires a one-time set-up.
Urgent times call for urgent measures, and that’s where Reach comes in. The combination of:
- A Trusted Contacts system
- Unique multimedia alerts
- Rising volume
...all of these factors means Reach lets you reach the unreachable in a way standard cellphone features don’t.
Think of the app as your extra insurance, so you know you’ll be able to contact someone in your greatest time of need.
When you really need to Reach a Trusted Contact through Reach, here’s what will happen on your intended recipient’s phone:
After 30 seconds, the ring tone will be loud and impossible to miss.
The sounds won’t stop until the recipient unlocks their phone and answers it, or the receiver cancels the call.
A message will appear on the receiver’s phone that tells them someone tried to REACH them and will give the option to the initiate to send their GPS location.
More Benefits Reach Will Bring:
· A new way to signify the most urgent calls
· Siren-like sounds leave recipient in no doubt that the incoming call is urgent
· Reach’s siren sound activates regardless of whether phones are on silent, vibrate or low level sound
· Easy-to-use interface allows you to add Trusted Contacts quickly
· You only need to set up Reach and your contacts once

Anthony Starace, Creator and Owner Of Reach
I was locked out of the house at night and my girlfriend sleeps with her phone on silent. There was no way of waking her without waking up the whole neighborhood. I was extremely worried that I would end up sleeping in my car that night, but I was also curious what the situation could've been like if I had been injured and needed her to answer my call. Thus, the creation of Reach.
My background is in military logistics, but I've always had an entrepreneurial mind. My brain is continually running, coming up with new products or services to solve everyday issues. I have over 6 years of experience in logistics, military leadership and critical thinking.
Developing and testing apps takes time and money, and getting the funding to do that is why I’m here.
I feel that Reach has a vital role to play in giving people the security of knowing they can reach someone in times of crisis or emergency. There’s nothing worse than making an urgent call that doesn’t get answered, or clicks into voicemail. Reach will overcome this.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t afford to financially support Reach right now. Any help you can give by spreading the word about my campaign to raise funds to make the Reach app happen will be greatly appreciated. You might even like to use the campaign hashtag I’ve come up with: #ReachMyGoal.
Anyway, thanks for Reaching this far (pun intended), and on a more serious note, I really hope that one day Reach will be able to help you or a loved one contact that trusted special someone in a time of need.
Product Specific FAQs:

● Can I add all my contacts? Is there a limit?
Yes, the app will have the ability to sync to your contacts or you can add your trusted contacts yourself.
● Will this work on all types of phones?
Most smartphones, if not all. Phones need to have the capability of downloading the app.
● Will this work if my phone is off or out of battery?
No; however, if you have low battery and your phone is about to turn off, users can send their location to the caller using Reach.
Risks and challenges
There are millions of apps out there, but Reach serves a real purpose that will help EVERYONE. As a fairly simple concept, I don’t envisage any problems with the development and testing phases of Reach. Yes, there are similar products built-in to cellphones, but right now, none have the stand-out alert features that will mean a call from Reach really attracts the attention of the intended recipient.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
