MAJOR UPDATE: EDUCATION ... UPGRADE ... AND DELIVERY
EDUCATION: Hello, all. As you will recall from our campaign, a primary purpose of creating The Anatomy of Severe Weather was to provide an educational tome for classrooms, libraries, and storm-spotter groups. We are thrilled to report that the response from schools and libraries has been a little overwhelming! It's heartwarming for us to see the fruits of our labor being acknowledged as necessary and important. We have decided to increase our print run to accommodate this demand.
UPGRADE: There are two versions of the book - hardcover and softcover. The hardcover version has the transparencies positioned as explanatory overlays. They are stunning! Because increased demand has enabled us to increase our print run, we are able to do 2 things: for those with the softcover reward, we will provide a discounted "upgrade" option for you to go from softcover to hardcover; and for those with the hardcover reward, we will provide an "add-on" option for a discounted second book. No need to choose either, you can stay with the original reward of course. And no need to contact us about this either - we will send you a separate reward-specific message to all relevant backer levels shortly; it's your choice from there.
DELIVERY: Our Kickstarter campaign indicated we would deliver the books in December. At the original quantity, we were piggybacking on a large air freight shipment; this would have allowed us to ensure all books arrive and are delivered to you by XMas. At the new larger quantity, we'll miss that air shipment, and will need to use ocean freight for the majority of the books, which will arrive in January. BUT - for those who urgently require delivery by the holidays, not to worry! We are agreeing to air freight enough books (we will do it; no extra cost to you) to accommodate you. So - if delivery for you is time-sensitive, and this is something you require, please send us a "message" (click our names on top right, and then "Contact Us" - it's way better than a comment) and request December delivery; you shall have it as promised. The book is completely finished, fully designed, all copy is in place, and we have just received the first set of color proofs from the printer. When you get your copy, you'll be blown away by the images, of course - but you'll also see we focused quite heavily on education through extensive information and explanation. Storm chasing is something we enjoy, but sharing it in this way has become more than a true labor of love, it has become our mandate. We are so very proud of the product. It looks incredible. And we can't wait to hear your comments about it as well. Thanks again for your support. Whatever benefits come from this book, whether it be educational, professional, or pure leisure enjoyment, none of it could or would have happened without you.
