A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

The ColdTi is designed as the ultimate tool for cryptocurrency security. With increased adoption and capitalization of cryptocurrencies such as BitCoin and Ethereum, the need for extreme security of individual portfolios becomes ever more important. ColdTi is the only system which stores recovery seeds in indestructible Titanium to prevent the loss of crypto funds forever. Without the ColdTi, no owner of cryptocurrencies should feel safe.
What Problem Does the ColdTi solve?
Any digital backup of the a recovery seed or private key is susceptible to attack, so the need exists to write down the seed in the real word, away from prying eyes. However, most people treat their recovery seed like they would a receipt from the store, relying on ink and paper to protect the most important password in their lives. Leaving your seed on a flimsy piece of paper is a risk most investors shouldn’t have to take.
The ColdTi will protect and preserve any recovery seed for generations. Titanium (with a melting point of over 3000°F) isn’t susceptible to fire, flood or the crumbling ravages of time. Titanium even creates its own oxide film layer to prevent corrosion. The ColdTi also ships with a nondescript, fire and tamper resistant enclosure to add another level of security.
How is it used?
The only safe way to transcribe your seed to the ColdTi is to engrave it yourself. Sharing your key with anyone (yes even us) for help engraving immediately compromises its security. So we have included a super simple punch set as a tool to do the engraving yourself in minutes. Any hammer can do the job (we aren’t sending one with ColdTi) and after a few punches on the included practice kit to perfect your aim, anyone can do their own engraving.
The ColdTi works in tandem with the BIP39 word list. The BIP39 word list consists of 2048 words with each word corresponding to a unique number, so the ColdTi is designed to be engraved with the corresponding numbers instead of the words. A numerical punching scheme allows ColdTi to ship with only 9 punches and, due to word lists being available in languages other than English, the ColdTi is language agnostic and will work for any cryptocurrency holder worldwide.
Every design decision made for ColdTi — from the materials used, to the nondescript nature of the enclosure, to even the tamper resistant screws which hold it all together — was made to offer the ultimate level of durability and security.
ColdTi is neatly etched with 24 fields which will perfectly organize your recovery seed numbers. Each unit will ship with a numeric stamp set with numbers 0-9 as well as a fire-resistant aluminum enclosure. The enclosure has a gorgeous satin black finish and is assembled with tamper proof stainless steel countersink screws.
The device is about the size of a credit card and contains no logos or markings which may lead to unwanted detection.
Made In America
The ColdTi was designed and prototyped in Mesa, Arizona. We plan to manufacture, package and ship the device entirely within the United States with an aggressive price point and two day shipping.
Other foreign devices in the space fail to accomplish anywhere near the level of durability, security and pricing the ColdTi offers.
There are no significant risks to this project (we believe the risks are in NOT backing up your recovery seed in titanium), however there are two inherent challenges:
1) We will not be manufacturing the numeric punches in favor of sourcing them from existing suppliers. As such, each set will need to be inspected for standard of size and quality. Each Cold Ti kit will not ship until the included punch kit is inspected.
We are not worried or expect any issues with the manufacturing of the titanium plate, engraving, or manufacturing of the enclosures. We have had a long record of success in manufacturing products that require metal fabrication, machining, and engraving. 2) There is a small learning curve to create proper punches. We will address this issue by including a practice metal plate to help users learn how easy it is to stamp metal without risking mistakes on their titanium plates. We will also post a tutorial video to highlight the best techniques for perfect punching.
We have no outstanding projects at this time that would prohibit us from giving the proper attention to the Cold Ti project.
