Think Independent Magazine
A magazine dedicated to promoting indie comics to independent minds. We'll target major US cities to build indie comic awareness.
My goal is to see that hard working independent comic book creators have a chance to promote their work to a larger audience and hopefully to make a profit at the work they produce.
I plan to create a centralized hub for all creators so that they can organize into one unified voice. This is important because it will generate leverage in our ability to make profits. The goal is to cultivate new readers and expose them to the niche market of independent comics. It is my hope that the demographics generally ignored by larger publishers will find enjoyment in reading independent comics.
We will focus first on comic readers in general by ensuring that each comic book retailer in the United States receives a complimentary copy of "Think Independent Magazine". Retailers will be asked to indicate how many copies they would like to order for their customers.
Second, with the remainder of print copies available we will target major US cities by distributing bulk copies to volunteers who will then distribute to their friends, fans, family, and "art houses". This may include traditional book stores, community theaters, coffee shops, music venues, record stores, college campuses, book fairs, and conventions.
The money will be used to print physical copies of "Think Independent Magazine" and to ship those to comic shops and our hub volunteers. If we want to survive and thrive in this industry we have to start thinking big.
