Our Story.

My name is Sophie Dunster and I am the founder of Gung Ho Design, an ethical brand on a mission to create fashion that means more. I started Gung Ho 18 months ago in an attempt to take on the boring look and feel of ‘sustainable’ fashion. When I realised that our style choices tell us so much about who we are and what we stand for, I decided to design a collection that not only looks great but is inspired by important issues.
All of our designs have a hidden meaning within the print. A talking point at their heart. That way you can not only wear what you love, but what you believe in.
I’ve spent the last 8 months refining the designs, setting up a supply chain and finalising the detail. I’m now all set to bring this collection to life and just need your help to pre-fund the production.
The Collection.

Our Process.
First I pick an important issue. I then go to town drawing it, before combining the images into a print design. Once I’m happy with the design and its message I get it printed here in the UK on 100% organic fabric. The fabric then goes off to Studio Masa Chuka in Stratford, London to be hand made up into the collection.
With every purchase we make sure to donate to a charity that works closely with the cause shown in the print, and we also provide each customer with a ‘Talking Point’ – a dinky minizine that gives you a few key facts and a bit more information on the issue at hand.
Sizing.
Our earrings and bow ties are one size fits all.
The unisex embroidered sweatshirts come in XS, S, M, L, XL. Ladies a size 8 is an XS, 10 : S, 12 : M, 14 : L, 16 : XL. Lads, size normally.
Due to the nature of the cut of the shirts, wrap skirts and wrap dresses we only need sizes XS/S and M/L. Sizes 6, 8, 10 will fit a XS/S and sizes 12, 14, 16 for the M/L.
Risks and challenges
This is my 3rd collection but the largest one to date so there will be challenges in production. As I want to keep production local I have spent a significant amount of time finding the right production partner and specifically chosen Studio Masa Chuka for consistent quality and reliability. Being based here in London, regular communication and quality checks are easy to maintain and we have already worked together to produce the collection's prototypes.
As is normal in the industry, issues with fabric arriving behind schedule or production calendars being switched around is a possibility. However I have set realistic timelines to accommodate this and will keep all contributors up to date via email on the progress of the project.
Thanks for all your support.
