The idea for our journal emerged from a writing group established in 2013. We frequently discussed our desire for more non-institutional hubs for radical intellectual engagement with questions of cultural production and imagination, social reproduction and materialist feminism, aesthetics and politics, historical thought and inquiries into the present, and anti-capitalist theory and practice. In 2015, we began to define the journal and its particular project, and started to circulate early texts in late summer. Since then, we’ve collaborated with dozens of writers and artists, and published thirty-two pieces as an editorial collective. The journal has gained an international readership, and has been translated into Arabic, Bosnian, French, German, Slovenian, and Turkish.
Now a year after we began Blind Field, we ask for your support in creating our first physical issue (printed on an antique letterpress) in this fundraiser. This issue, titled "End/And," will feature new and re-published material, including texts of varying genres, as well as original artwork. Please help us make this possible by donating money to cover the costs of materials and printing! We'd be nowhere without our friends, readers, and collaborators.
Thanks again for the love.

Risks and challenges
Blind Field is an all-volunteer project. We have run the project for the last year completely out of our pockets, while working various waged and unwaged jobs. What keeps us motivated is our committed readership, the continuing dialogue of collaborating with writers and artists, and the desire not to rely on institutions.
"End/And" will be our first foray from online publication. As book-lovers, we want to create a printed project to share with our readers, as another way to engage with our project. We are fortunate to have the help of local artists and creative advisors, who are skilled with letterpress and excited to see our first issue underway. All we need is help coming up with the resources to make this possible, and we will be thrilled to distribute "End/And" in 2017.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
