HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE //
I'M ANNABEL LEE...
I'm an Italian tempered, lipstick covered, hot blooded female singer songwriter from North Dighton, Massachusetts. A little less than a year ago, I uprooted my entire life (which was comfortable and relatively easy) packed up my car with every possession I had (mostly keyboards and jackets), and moved to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a music career.
REWIND TO 2011 //
I was in college at Massachusetts College of Art and Design studying performance art and multi-media (but mostly writing songs and performing them) and much to my surprise, the magnificent Amanda F****** Palmer came in for a few days as a visiting artist. During that short time span I made a point to perform live as many times as possible, and eventually handed her a sh*!ty CD of every homemade demo I'd ever recorded. Desperate? Nah, just hungry.
About a month later, she contacted me to open up for her on an east coast tour. Through this tour (some of the greatest nights of my my life to date) I met her then drummer for the Grand Theft Orchestra, Michael McQuilken (a.k.a. The Kraken). Michael ended up performing with me at one or two of the shows, and it immediately felt like it was an electric situation. We got together and played a show in Brooklyn that year, and kept in touch and always talked about making a record. Over the years Michael found great success as an accomplished writer, producer, director, composer, filmmaker, music video maker for acts like Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness -- as well as Amanda Palmer -- and the list goes on. He's a force.
A few months ago, Michael and I connected as he was about to make a trip out to LA. I happened to have a show booked while he was going to be in town, so we decided to hop to it. Further, he was GUTTED that I still hadn't recorded some particular songs, and he decided he'd bring a mic and a laptop and help me to start to, at the very least least, make a few demos... So.... that turned into doing a full album's worth of pre-production in my living room. Then, pre-live show, we posted up in an empty house somewhere in the blackened bowels of Hollywood, and made sooooo much noise. We ate greasy diner food, spoke in a lot of weird voices, had our first trip to guitar center, and now we're two-piece rockandroll band.
THE MUSIC //
For me, the writing process is deeply personal. I keep my secrets in there. If you want to get to know me, you will through listening to the songs. I've been writing and performing original music since I was 13, and it's been one of the only things in this life that I trust myself with. I play piano and guitar, and Michael is a monster on the drums as well as an extremely creative record producer. We want to make something that you feel in your chest, something that hurts so good, we wanna rip off the metaphorical bandaid for you and speed up the healing process. We want to dance with you, and we want it to be unfiltered and ferocious. Something you can drive to, cry to, cook to, run to, kiss to, drink to and think to. It's going to be filled with heart and bursting with badness.

BE A PART OF OUR PROCESS //
Michael and I have major league plans for this album. If you feel so inclined to donate to our campaign, we will be actively making a lot of artwork with an extraordinary team of creatives. From a badass female mastering engineer, to visual artists, to other studio musicians/recording artists, and YOU. We will tailor each reward to be in some way personal. From a handwritten letter, handmade piece of art, an intimate acoustic show at your house, or a full out rock show for you and your friends to all pitch in and make a raging party of it. This is a team effort, and with you on our team, this s*!t is going to be explosive. Join us for the beginning of a project that we envisage with conviction, will be colossal.

Risks and challenges
The process of recording an album is no easy feat. One of the biggest challenges for us taking this on will be the fact that we live on opposite coasts. We are both always ready to make it work somehow, and are always communicating about ways to work on either side of the country. Because we have both toured, been in multiple projects, and dedicated our lives to making music and art, we promise that with your help reaching our goal, the rewards will be of high quality, and you will have a huge hand in all of our success and our ability to reach new heights in our careers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
