About this project
Big Angry Monsters!!!
A board game where players assume the roles of Giant Monsters in an attempt to be the last Monster standing by destroying each other and the Island of Nacob in the process.
Players begin the game in or around the Island of Nacob, Monsters will then duke it out with a "press your luck" dice rolling mechanic where Monsters can take each other down, destroy buildings, do super moves and gain power to buy crazy upgrades and effects in order to be the last one standing.
Big Angry Monsters will comfortably seat 2-8+ players and take as little as 30 minutes to an hour to play.
The Base Game will include the Following:
The Island Game Board, 4 Monster Standees printed on 700 gsm punchboard stock with Corresponding Stat Trackers printed on 400 gsm coated paper stock, 12 custom Molded Dice, 50 double sided Location Tiles printed on 700 gsm punchboard stock, 54 Power Cards printed on 300gsm casino grade cardstock each with its own artwork, and a Scenario/Rule Book. (Note: Some stretch goals will add Monsters and Stat Trackers to the base game)

Here is some concept art for 2 of the Power Cards.
Players may purchase any of the Power Cards in the Power Stream by spending the amount of power listed in the card's cost. There are 2 types of Power Cards "Upgrade" and "Discard" the "Upgrade" cards are upgrades that a Monster will have as long as they have the card. "Discard" cards are cards that once they are purchased their effect goes off immediately.
Here is a prototype of 2 Location Tiles and the Fire Effect Tile.
Location Tiles are used at the start of the game to create the Island of Nacob game board. Players start by placing the tiles effect side down (unless scenario states otherwise) on a grid according to the given scenario. For example in the "Battle Royale" scenario players will place the tiles randomly according to the number of players. This way every game of "Battle Royale" that is played it will be different. So one of the deeper strategies for this scenario will be where players will place the tiles. There are a total of 8 Different building tile types that have 1 of 4 different effects.
The Icon on the top left is how many Hits it takes to destroy the building and the Icon on the bottom right is the benefit you gain for destroying the building. When a building is destroyed you will then flip the tile over to show its "Effect" side, which will have various effects.(Art coming soon)
The Apartment building on the left takes 2 Hit's to destroy and will Heal your Monster 3 Health and then turn into a pile of Rubble which makes the tile now an open space for Monsters to walk on.
The Office building on the right takes 2 hits to destroy and will give your Monster 3 Power that is used to purchase Power Cards from the Power Stream and then turn into a Firey Rubble that when a Monster enters or ends on this space they will take 1 damage.

The Stat Tracking Cards are where players will track their Monster's Health, Level and amount of Power they have gained.
Monsters gain a Level by rolling 3 Power Up's on their turn. When they level up it gives them access to new Power Move attacks.
For example at level 2 you gain Suplex which if goes unblocked you Suplex the enemy Monster to any adjacent space on the map destroying any building it is Suplexed onto. The enemy Monster suffers all unblocked damage as well as any collateral and or effect damage from hitting any building it may land on.

Risks and challenges
I have already done the research and leg work to help ensure that Big Angry Monsters may be one of the Top Quality Fun games out there. I have already commissioned a large portion of the artwork to get the ball rolling on what I think is going to be an awesome, fun, game to play! I have done extensive play-testing including taking Big Angry Monsters to the Gen-Con 2013 play-test hall and got some great feedback and comments. My goal with the Kickstarter is to be able to bring my vision to my fellow gamers at a really high quality.
