Recently a dear friend of mine, as she was sipping her "Berry Lustful" lizzmonade, said "Lissie, do you know that when we first met you told me that you make the best lemonade". I looked at her puzzled and replied "REALLY?" I didn't remember. Was lemonade my destiny?
I remember building my first lemonade stand with my dad. I used the hammer, we painted it white, and Mom bought me this really pretty yellow wall paper for the shelves. She watched me sell from the window of our apartment in Brooklyn...such great memories!
And now years later (don't ask me how many) we have lizzmonade....
Launched in May of 2011 lizzmonade was created to bring to you that perfect glass of lemonade. The perfect lemonade that brings back wonderful memories and feelings with each and every sip! Yes, you remember, a lemonade that tastes like Summer.
But it wouldn't be a lizzmonade if we didn't do something different.
Can you imagine a Strawberry Fire lizzmonade (with a touch of Jalapeno) or a Just Peachy made with Ginger? All of our lizzmonades are individually hand crafted and infused with only the freshest fruit - Yellow Watermelon anyone? And because absolutely NOTHING is pre-made we can sweeten your lizzmonade just the way you like. We can use either sugar, organic agave, or zero calorie Stevia. Or you can pucker up and go "Naked" with no added sweetener because our fruit can be extra sweet all on it's own - like Mango Pineapple! This makes our lizzmonades vegan and diabetic friendly, just ask anyone who attended the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival!
And did we mention our commitment to sustainability. lizzmonade uses only 100% compostable cups and lids therefore reducing our waste footprint. We use locally grown fruit when available, which is why you will never see us at a carnival, because lizzmonade loves all the fresh produce that our local farmer's market vendors share with us. Your Coolcumber/Basil lizzmonade can't get any more re-FRESH-ing or healthy. Lastly, we hire and train directly from the communities we serve!
Now as we begin our sophomore season we need your help. We need want to expand with multiple booth set ups so we can participate in more markets! More markets means we can hire more staff which contributes to the growth of the local economy. Your pledges will help us establish relationships with composting facilities for our ogranic waste and maybe even help us create a community garden.
Who doesn't love lemonade? Well you are gonna love lizzmonade even more! Won't you help us bring our lemony goodness to everyone? And remember when life gives you lemons . . . s
