About this project
This campaign is to raise funds for a learning kit that families can use with their newborn to 1-year-old children. We currently have the design ready and now need the funds to produce the first kits. But before we go any further, a bit more about us.
Let’s Talk Kids was started in September 2011 with free weekly emails to caregivers of young children providing activities, recipes and advice. The content comes from Early Childhood/ Parent Educators Cinnamin Theisen and Wendy Walz (2009 Community Educator of the Year in Early Childhood) who have more than 40 years of experience in the field. The content is written by Candi Walz, a journalist who has written for 20 publications.
After working with families, it was clear they wanted more - a simple toolkit to use in their homes and prepare children for school. As a company, we took this concept and ran with it! Months later, we are now ready to produce this kit and release it to the public. The first kit is geared toward newborn to 1-year-old children. The intention is to make more kits geared toward a child’s specific development ability at different ages.
This first kit contains 101 activities for families and specifies learning in core competency areas including: language, math, science, music, art, social studies and fine/large motor skills. The kit has been developed to be very easy to use by families.
The mother-daughter trio seeks to provide high quality learning resources to prepare kids for kindergarten.
A sincere thank you for your consideration and support.
Love and learn,
Candi, Wendy and Cinnamin
Yes, individual families can purchase the kits. We will also be working with nonprofit organizations and government agencies to get the kits to families in need.
Yes, we would love this! If you are giving to the campaign and don't want the prize, please let us know and we will work to get these to families in need. We love learning and sharing it with others. It is our ultimate goal to get these in the hands of all families who want one. Thanks.
You will not be charged unless Let's Talk Kids reaches the full $7,000 goal. We can earn more than $7,000 but not less. (I personally have funded successful campaigns and unsuccessful campaigns. You only get a charge at the end if it is successful. No money is taken out of your account if it is unsuccessful).
