Game pieces & Shipping information
First off, I want to thank everyone who took them time to tell me about their awesome game nights with the Playable Demo. If you haven't tried it out yet and are anxious to get into the game right now, check out the details from Update 11.
If you have followed some of the discussion in the Comments area, you may have seen there were some complications with one of the game vendors. Right before the holiday, the vendor who quoted me for the custom player pieces threw a wrench into the production schedule. They apparently misquoted the job by a factor of 4. This would have jacked up the cost of each box by $5, or about $7500 total. I tried to work with them to find a solution, but there wasn't anything they could do for me.
So, I had to find a new vendor, but over the holidays and New Years's not much could be done. But just this past week, we found a new company in Maine that could fulfill our entire order. Now, they are not custom pieces like I had originally envisioned, but they are wood, they are colorful, and they are glossy. Here they are:
Happily, the dimensions are nearly the same as the bullets I had designed, so that means they will still fit within the molded insert I designed for the game box.
The best news is that this means production can begin soon! My printer is adamant, for their own protection, that all pieces must be shipped to them before production can begin. So, as soon as I deliver all 9900 pieces to them, they'll start printing. Probably within 2 weeks, given the shipping time.
And that means the new tentative shipping date is late March-early April. (The printer quoted a 6-8 week schedule)You have all been so patient and I greatly appreciate that. I am thrilled, despite the various setbacks, we will finally get this game produced and shipped out to you all.
That's all for now. Have a fantastic weekend.
