Hi, we're Jeff, Dan, Grant, and Oliver. Put us together in a room with instruments and we are Foreverever, a power pop band based in Oakland, CA.
We are super excited to be releasing our first album! We spent 10 days hunkered down inside the exquisite Tiny Telephone studios in San Francisco tracking and mixing (http://www.tinytelephone.com/). Countless other days were spent writing, revising, rehearsing, and perfecting 10 songs that we think you're going to love.
This album is self-released, which means we have invested a substantial amount of time and money in its production. We are asking for your support to help us get across the finish line and to focus on promoting our music. Although the record is almost done, we are just beginning the work of promoting it and continuing to make music. Independent bands like us only grow through community support -- you represent the foundation upon which our art can grow.
So what's our music like, and what inspired us to make this record?
Our music combines the simplicity and sincerity of pre-Beatles rock 'n' roll (think Buddy Holly or Roy Orbison) with the wit, edge, and drive of 1990s nerd-rock (think Weezer or Ben Folds). However, each one of the songs on this album draws on a different genre: some lean indie rock, some wander into Americana territory, and others are firmly parked in garage pop. They are unified by the playfulness and freedom we felt when we allowed ourselves to create music without considering whether it fit into a certain sound or style.
We like to think of the album as a love song to pop music. But just because it's a pop record doesn't mean it's something you've heard 1,000 times before. In addition to the mandatory love songs, there's a song about falling into a well, another about what it's like to be a moth, and even one dedicated to a baby doll. You can find two of our songs here:
We tried hard to make a high-quality, approachable and enjoyable album that has a little something for everyone. To do this, we went above and beyond what many new bands would do and made a substantial investment in the recording process. We really believe in our music, and we hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for your support!!
Risks and challenges
The digital masters are almost finished and CDs will soon go into production. With your support, both digital downloads and CDs will be available by the time the Kickstarter campaign ends on March 22. The biggest challenge for us lies ahead in promoting our album, touring, and manufacturing the physical CDs and records. We are gearing up to play more shows, and to promote the album by sending copies to music writers, radio stations, etc. You can help us by spreading the word!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
