Oscilloscope Music - Remixes - Vinyl Cover

You've probably been wondering when you will finally receive your vinyl record.

Current status: After resolving many issues, the test pressing will be here shortly, and then it can most likely go straight to pressing. That means it's only a few more weeks until you get your record. In the meantime, please make sure your shipping address is up to date! You can do so either through Kickstarter or by sending an email to spirals@oscilloscopemusic.com.

So why did it take so long? In October, when the audiovisual album was released, I thought it would only be a matter of a weeks until the remixes are done and then the vinyl records could be pressed and shipped out before the end of the year. Well, it wasn't that simple.

I had underestimated how hard the material is to work with. Waveforms that are made in order to draw visuals on an oscilloscope come with all kinds of clicks, clipping, offsets, weird phasing and panning and generally stuff that music producers would avoid at all cost. In fact I was already in touch with the pressing plant last year, with the data almost ready to send. But on second thought it still seemed raw and unfinished, and would probably have been impossible to press on vinyl. I then did more of the remixes myself than I had previously planned and was also more involved with some of the collaborations. In the end, the remixes featuring Ivo Francx, Sophiaaaahjkl;8901, Re-lay, Jesus Raves and Opcion did turn out really awesome and I'm proud to present the remix album on Bandcamp:

Needless to say that also for the mastering engineer, as well as the vinyl pressing plant, the material wasn't easy to work with, but they were very helpful and after some back and forth it all got sorted out.

Then it also took a bit to get the cover right: The whole artwork is in anaglyph 3D with up-dimensioned stills from the tracks and you'll get red/cyan glasses with your vinyl! Pretty neat, isn't it?
